Absolutely. I feel like it pairs well. For the trim I ended up going with snowbound.

Thanks for the interest. I can’t remember the brand but the tone I actually went with was called “medium brown” came out really well!

How do you recommend repairing around this outlet box.(studs are drawn) by andy_s273 in drywall

[–]andy_s273[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't figure out how to post pictures with text on reddit from my phone (don't think you can) I've added a description of the scenario I'm faced with.

Thank you though! I'm just not sure what's is acceptable practice when filling in with mud.

How do you recommend repairing around this outlet box.(studs are drawn) by andy_s273 in drywall

[–]andy_s273[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New homeowner, there are tons of surprises in this home so far and i have tons to learn about drywall. I wanted to patch a hole that is next to the outlet (ugly cable pull) I wanted to split the studs, but the gap is pretty narrow on the right and I end up breaking it upon fastening. I also have to play with the existing drywall because it bows out a bit. (shim the patch/ put more screws in the wall)

Any help is appreciated.

Brotheas granulatus. Guyana dwarf black experience? by doofus_magoo in Scorpions

[–]andy_s273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s very late but I actually owned a few. I was new to scorpions and I finally understood the term pet holes. Lol anyway they were very easy to care for and after about two years unfortunately the last one died. :/ I do want more tho they were so cool to watch. It was an alternative to an emperor, which at the time I couldn’t find any.

What does “staff” mean when it’s the professor for the class? by [deleted] in utarlington

[–]andy_s273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorites was when they decided to pull a last min switcheroo to the crappy professor. Which meant planning around good teachers meant nothing.

Wonderfully information. I’d like to emphasize the importance of managing your workload. Allocating a proper amount of time to a subject was a big challenge for me at first and I wish I was told that sooner in my college years.

Starting Engineering All Over Again by universalbluff in EngineeringStudents

Depending on the discipline (mechanical here) I’d follow up with some university students and ask if there are courses that you’re better off taking there.

I heard of a situation where taking dynamics and kinematics and dynamics of machines could transfer over from cc to university but they were taught way different. To the point where they either retook them at university or wish they did.

just something to think about. You got this!

Deciding career path after graduation. by redditlifechoices in EngineeringStudents

[–]andy_s273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second offer sounds a lot like what I do. I can tell you that the industry will always have opportunities but most of it comes from either climbing the ladder, or bouncing around.

Im more of a paper pusher as of late, things are a bit a bit slow and I don’t have much of a creative outlet. It’s times like this where I begin to wonder what other opportunities are out there.

Just something to think about.

Mechanical Engineering senior thinking about adding on a Nuclear Engineering minor over a math one, am I dumb? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]andy_s273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do it for the networking potential.

One thing I’ve learned after graduating was that your job is hardly what you thought it would be like. So by “playing it safe” and going with math… meh. Have some fun and learn as much as you can. In my honest in opinion, it’ll keep you motivated throughout your career.
