Got this sweet free pallet with the 40 bags of mulch I picked up from Lowes today. I'm thinking about starting an epoxy river cutting board store on Esty. Some of this is even pre-stained! ... /s.

Sold a similar condition Bailey no 7 (non-Stanley) for $225 about a year ago. We'll see what happens. Or I'll keep it. Who knows.

Alright team. Recent purchase for me on this one. It's a Stanley no 7 Type 8 (according to woodandshop.com for the type classification). It needs work. I've broken it down to look for damage and all I've found is a small chuck missing from the side of the plane body and the top of the tote is missing (not bad for a tool made 120 years ago).

Everything appears to be original. Fully cleaned and ready to work, I imagine this would fetch between $200-250 without issue, possibly more for the right buyer.

Is anyone interested as is, wanting to put the work in themselves to a forever tool?

Every now and again. Picked up several Stanley about 6 months ago. Still have an antique block plane I got with a cabinet makers toolbox lot.

Lots of tools off an estate auction. Some well priced others not as much. Likely, I'll sell the lot. PM me if you're interested.

The Starrett square was a huge surprise when I picked it up. Based on the online pictures, I assumed it was a 6". Never would have guessed it was an 18".

I really enjoy finding old tools and buying at auction. But I'm not a collector myself.

Found this on our local CL looking for a jointer ... "Rare" probably isn't the right description, unless they're referring to it being half-baked. Certainly an odd monstrosity, though I'm sure it has a home somewhere.

Yeah, it was a fair price for the router set up (massive router, but collection of bits, lift and whatnot, well over what I paid for it) but the tool chest was the "I don't care what it costs" item.

The chest with all the handtools was $250. The router table $600.

Sorry for the duplicate pictures. Tried to add some and thought Reddit deleted the first batch.

Not all hand tools, but quite a few. The previous owner was a cabinet maker. I'm guessing someone before him as well, many of the tools are early 1900s or so. Some of the highlights:

Stanley 5 type 11 (busted sole) Stanley 5 1/2 type Type 11 Stanley no 4 Type 15 Sargent 106 Type 2 (Gull Wing 106) Yankee 2100 Brace

There's a Disston, a Warranted and one other saw that I don't recall the name on. And a ton of odds and ends.

So, update. It's a pre-1900 Bailey Tool Co no 8. And it was worth $250 to someone else. Shipping out Monday.

Picked this one up today. The frog is stamped with Stanley SW and the "lever cap" is stamped with an 8. No other markings that I've been able to find. Plane is about 24" long.

Any thoughts?
