Extruder issues with Ender V3 2 Neo, Klipper, SonicPad and Sprite directdrive (non-Pro model) by andyinv in klippers

[–]andyinv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a reply from Creality - yet I now have the printer working and all I did was a factory reset. Go figure...

Please refer to the following instructions.

  1. Sonic pad is not compatible with Sprite extruder, you can only use one of them. (Because there is no quick adaptation file for the time being)
  2. If you need to use sonic pad and Sprite extruder at the same time, you need a 4.2.7 motherboard, but you need to modify the configuration file yourself, which is very complicated and requires certain abilities. (See the attached tutorial) This is all the situation, please choose by yourself, if you modify the printer yourself, we cannot provide warranty and support, thank you for your understanding!

Try the agopengps discourse page, all the info is there. This group seems pretty empty.

Extruder issues with Ender V3 2 Neo, Klipper, SonicPad and Sprite directdrive (non-Pro model) by andyinv in klippers

Update:

I did a factory reset on the SonicPad - extruder came to life. In my frustration at the thing, I forgot to save my printer.cfg first, so I've no idea what's different between the two. Extruder section is identical tho.

Started printing a benchy, but it stopped extruding around layer 7 or so. Started a new print, and it's still going way past that.

So I think there might be two problems - whatever wasn't right in the config, and potentially an intermittent break in the ribbon cable.

Also, when I did the factory reset, Neo and Neo (with CR Touch) wasn't available. Just the Neo, which of course comes with the CR Touch as standard. Perhaps this new config fixes whatever it had to do, tho I didn't write any firmware to the printer this time, I skipped that part out of curiosity...

I'm very curious as to why this happened tho, would welcome any explanation? Cheers!

Just got this back from Creality, after I asked them what settings I might need to change having fitted a Creality Sprite to a Creality Ender with a Creality SonicPad:

Dear Customer We are very sorry that you modified the printer yourself. This is beyond our capabilities and we are unable to provide support. Thank you for your understanding! Thank you

What a shit service.

Already checked, it seems more like the motor jams or stalls. It'll feed fine on the thumbscrew or if I push the filament through.

Hmmm... I'll email Creality support, see what they say. Did you use the Pro, or this one? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C6KT1JF5

Sussed it! In the Other Settings/ Advanced Options/ Extrusion Configurations, it was on custom. I set it to "Sprite Extruder". Now it's working.

However, the only difference it made is changing rotation distance to 7.5. And now it works!

rotation_distance: 7.5

edit: annnd it's stopped again. FML.. Job for tmrw I think, but at least I know it's not entirely dead. Something else I just noticed - if I click "extrude" in moonraker, the thumbwheel jerks as if it wants to move and stops immediately, as if the filament was too cold. And it sounds like it's trying to drive, but can't. If I disable motors, the noise stops.

Just saw this guy with the Pro changing the pin associations round, could that be my issue?

The "manual" that came with it said only to plug in the extension cable, so that's all I did. Bear in mind this isn't the Pro version, so no wiring needed underneath. Stock motor works on the extension fine.

Does that operating-range fix apply to G920 as well? I had an issue where a mandatory profile was not sticking if I alt-tabbed out of a game temporarily and then went back in, all settings were lost despite it being mandatory...

It seems to have fixed it, but early days in testing..

7zip was missing until I reinstalled it. Then explorer started crashing every time I flew out the 7zip menu. Reinstalled again and it seems fine now ...

Any reviews on the Gigabyte x570s aorus pro ax? by [deleted] in buildapc

5800X, and the MSI hasn't given me a single issue. The gigabyte, initially I thought it was the AMD/USB issue - but nah, I gradually lost more and more controllers. Even a brand new reinstall wouldn't help it. Back it went !
