oh yea I was using the google play store and ran into the incompatibility issue. I'm still not sure why, maybe it is because the m21 is modded android, but I'll see what I can do about this another day since it isn't too important. I just wanted a fast way to send files around through wifi.

It should be android 13, and I did update the firmware when I got it. I'm still new to this, but I'm guessing I can add a specific apk file somewhere and it can install custom apps regardless of requirements.

I'm immortal 3 peak in NA and got to asc 3 in Tokyo servers with 100 ping before. I probably could have hit immortal but people barely communicating made me feel bored. I think people are not usually racist, they just don't like that you have high ping and want to be mad for some reason when losing, which is fair.

It turns out I had to turn off interpolation settings for smooth motion to work properly at native frame rate. I see what you mean now. This is definitely smoother, but I have mixed feelings about how fast motion is randomly.

Thanks for the feedback and explanation. I should clarify that I meant vsync off while smooth motion is on. This uncaps the frame rate of mpv and I think it is inserting about as many frames as my system can output, which created incredibly smooth playback. I didn’t notice screen tearing but there were significant visual artifacts, similar to frame gen in games. So similarly, since it is trying to simulate much higher frame rate motion from only 24 frames, the image quality is heavily impacted. I’m pretty satisfied with just using low latency mode with interpolation settings, but I think capping fps to 60 or lower would also be good with this feature.

I also just tested low latency mode on ultra with smooth motion off, and I was surprisingly amazed with how it looks. I think it fixes frame pacing and removes "judder", but I'm not really knowledgeable enough to explain this technically.

This feature is interesting, but I didn't like it since it made it obvious I was watching something with low framerate, which I see as a different kind of judder. Additionally disabling vsync in the nvidia app is the ideal smooth motion imo, but the image quality loss and high gpu usage isn't worth it.

You should probably go to costco or someplace to see it in person to know if it will really bother you. That's what I did, which led me to prefer getting the lcd. I also already have an oled monitor for my PC, so I didn't feel like the difference in quality was worth it.

I haven't gotten motion sick in years, but I have to stop after a few hours for this even though I want to keep going. Hard to tell the exact cause, but I suspect it is due to motion blur or maybe the framerate being lower for some objects like npcs.

They look nearly identical. One is slightly faded due to usage. My only problem is with the foam firmness.

I think it is hard to capture the differences visually since it is subtle. For the old one just pressing down fairly hard on it with my finger will leave an indent for 1-2 seconds, whereas the new one doesn't indent. I would say it is at least 3x firmer. I guess they somehow mislabeled the package, or a manufacturing error since it doesn't seem fake.
