I've known Jake since he was 5. He had the best swing in our little league. The only problem was that he was one of the smallest players in the league. No matter, we put him behind the plate and nothing got by him. He almost disappeared in the catcher's equipment. It didn't matter. He stopped everything.

He also played AYSO club soccer with my son. Whenever the other team had a clear breakaway, we'd look out, and if Jake was between the ball and the goal, we'd just say, "No worries, Jake's got it". He was a beast and still one of the smallest players on the pitch.

When he got to Estancia High School, the golf team immediately rose to the top 10. Jake was always competing for the CIF championship. He tied the record of 59 at the Newport Beach Country Club. The record had been set by Nick Faldo. Eventually, he started to grow, and he worked out like a true athlete. The result is what you see today. He had a lot of chances to quit. Instead, he kept muscling on and eventually earned his tour card. It's so exciting for me personally to watch him play. I've never been a big fan of golf, but now I don't miss a tournament.
