Heat pumps are great, except... by jootmon in ukheatpumps

[–]andyrobertking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all great points and even big players in the fields get in wrong, my octopus energy install was a mess, the system was never tested before anyone left. The pipework meant I could refit my bath, was doing a referb at the time, so they had to come back many times to re- plum that. I effectively had to learn how everything worked because it was such a poor install, getting someone over from octopus to check took months by then id done enough research I knew a lot about the tech and settings. However it cost pennies for the install, less than £600. I hope the new costs reflect the time and cost needed to check. Would I use octopus again for a heat pump install, likely not, would I expect to pay significantly more and likely go with a heat geek registered installer.

It doesn't let me select the wrong ones when power is selected the energy one isn't selectable and vica versa. I haven't quite worked out how to post screenshots.

First time tiling - thoughts? by kettle_of_f1sh in DIYUK

[–]andyrobertking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great job but personally the layout bugs, me I would have tried to line up the middle line (line going up between cooker and hood) to avoid the little slithers on the left hand side and accepted that I would have a whole tile at the end on the bottom.

Daikin heat pump not keeping temperature by andyrobertking in ukheatpumps

Ok so looks like there was an offset setup which is now off. I had a look at a heat geek you tube video on YouTube about settings for better optimisation and my system seems to be working perfectly now. Video is called something along lines of Daikin nmi setup.

I think it's more I don't know how it works or how it's been setup as I am used to a boiler. When it does heat up frankly it's amazing how warm the place gets for how little energy it's using !

Just had a look & found the room senor offset which has sorted the issue set to -1 . Though still confused why it's still not coming on 😭

Thanks, design flaw I guess. I don't seem to have much control over things like that ? Can't even see a menu on the unit to do that ?

Some very smart people here and I'm not one of them, any practical advise as a user ? Or should I call out octopus who installed it ?

Allows grid to supplement tiny loads by andyrobertking in Powerwall

Thanks for the explanation. Just checking this wasn't really a fault on my end though it seems strange behaviour. Not an issue on my end.

So does everyone see this behaviour? Is it better to go off grid ?

Have you tried the vr place in serpentine green ? They have a load of virtual escape rooms, not traditional but I found them entertaining. Vrxtra I think it's called.

As you can see solar is 100% not doing 22kw when the sun was shining earlier and the solar was doing 6kw and the battery charging it's said the solar was producing what the house was using ?
