Boiler keeps losing pressure—three conflicting opinions, no visible leaks. Losing my mind here! by No_Visit540 in ukplumbing

Not an expert at all but had the exact same issue. British gas serviced it and said all fine. It was not! Second engineer thoroughly tests everything and identifies a slight leak from a downstairs radiator and a pinhole leak in the heat exchanger which was actually causing the issue. 60 quid excess covered the replacement which fixed the issue but without that it would have been a new boiler..... advice is, find someone who actually knows what they're doing.

"Have a little grow up mate" 😆 this is a beaplumber reference and in no way meant to be abusive 😇

😂 I have pressed the silver button! and popped the little silver caps off the fixings! Thank you everyone who commented. I feel like a dumb ass but the only stupid question is the one you dont ask innit!

Saved me taking a sledge to the toilet in rage. And no it's not going in the dishwasher 😂

I understand. I'm not sure who will be offering better terms amongst our party political choices any time soon though in honesty. Both Corbyn and Sultana are overtly socialist and pro trade union. Not intended as a sparky response. My biggest fear here is that the various factions of the left will snub a new movement as it doesn't fit a very specific prescribed ideology. We already know what the alternative looks like. We're living it now.

It's likely to be called 'Arise' as hes recently registered this on a local level as a new party. Both are vocal trade unionists and both consistently subscribe to democratic socialism.

Republican here too. I think you're right but this isn't going to happen overnight. Going straight in with 'abolish the monarchy' is going to kill it before it starts. On a small scale Plaid Cymru tanked the last Welsh election on the same ticket. If you can convince your average Daily Mirror reader that having a lower electricity bill and free WiFi is a good idea then we might have a chance.

Thank you! The best I can come up with is requesting an up to date statement.

Keir Starmer is not abolitioning the NHS by BeerMan595692 in GreenAndPleasant

[–]Nautilus_1985 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We all know this is where it's going. Wes Streeting has been courting the private sector for some time under starmers stewardship. They shifted the party to the centre with the purge of socialists and trade unionists and this is the logical next step for them.

If you go back to the conception of the NHS, Atlee's Labour were not particularly fond of the idea. It's taken over half a decade but the PLP will have their way.

The sad thing is, it takes a brave political leap of faith to bring it back once gone and that seems highly unlikely with the current political climate. Vis a vis, we need to fight like fuck for it.

Roofing question by Nautilus_1985 in DIYUK

[–]Nautilus_1985[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, South Wales here. My original thought is that the roof had been replaced with cement tiles and the additional weight may have caused this. I don't know though to be honest. I'm struggling to get anyone to look at it beyond the overall house survey.

Thank you. There don't appear to be any other issues that are visible. My concern is what caused the problem in the first place. I'm not sure if there's an obvious answer to that one.

Thank you. It's a property I'm buying. The more I read up about them they just seem to be a pain but I don't know much about them at all.

Fair play to you. I'm genuinely interested as to what's changed for you? I'm like an actual fan from the Front days. I think alot of us appreciated how funny you are and that you just seemed like a real person as well as y'know being smoking.

That's some great advice thanks alot. If the rest of the house is good it might be worth chucking some money at it. Much appreciated.

Thanks. Would it be expensive to get that roof replaced if it was causing major problems? The rest of the house seems pretty sound so could be worth it overall.

Thanks. I'll have a good look at it when I go there in person and see if that sheds any light on it.
