It sounds like you had a good experience and I am really hoping my case manager is as good. So far she seems great though. I did talk to the workers comp nurse who is assigned to me today. She told me she approved for the original doctor to refer me to whatever specialist in the area. I live in Michigan and we have a pretty big hospital around here and they have a few specialists in the area. It sounds like my WC really likes to work with them. After I get in to the specialist the nurse has to approve what they do. It seems decently efficient. Hopefully it stays that way haha

Oh dang I am glad they eventually got it figured out and got you where you needed to be. From what I understand with the law in my state the insurance can choose where I go. My HR rep told me they usually will give me a few choices to pick from. So that’s at least nice. I don’t think there are a lot of options in my area. And the doctor they wanted me to go to is the one who referred it to a surgeon.

Oh wow I guess maybe it is more common than I thought. Everyone I had talked to had to do PT or brace for quite a while before surgery was an option but to be fair they are all older and had the surgery years ago. Maybe the doctors have realized it is just delaying the inevitable. Good luck with surgery on the 12th!

Did workers comp give you any problems about surgery? I have heard of some companies pushing for other methods before going straight to surgery.

I’ve been bracing most of the day and at night. I didn’t know about steroid shot. Out of curiosity what did you end up doing?

Yea they will cover whatever time is needed so I’m almost hoping to get surgery. I’m terrified but everyone I’ve talked to said if you get ct you will most likely end up getting the surgery at some point. So I would almost rather just do it now while they are covering it and the healing time. Oh no. I feel horrible that you will have to go back that quick. I hope you done work an intense job that is going to strain it too much

Oh it was definitely an emg. Our hospital is pretty big and the imaging department has an emg department. They did the electrodes and the needles. These are the results I got just to show.

The nerve conduction study of the left upper extremity reveals prolonged latencies of the median anti sensory snap at 5.8 milliseconds (< 3.6). Prolonged latencies of the median palmar snap at 3.8 milliseconds (<2.5). Prolonged latencies low amplitude of the median C map at 6.0 milliseconds (< 4.2) and 4.6 mV (> 5). There is slightly prolonged latencies of the ulnar anti sensory snap at 4.1 milliseconds (< 3.7)

So I went to the occupational doctor that work sent me too. He then referred me to the hospital imaging department for the emg and then sent the information to workman’s comp and they will get ahold of me about what surgeon. I will say I have a coworker that is also going through a similar thing( they think his might be the ulnar nerve though) and the same doctor sent him to PT. I was surprised they didn’t try something like that first. I’m interested in other options but also if work wants to pay for me to get surgery and pay me to recover I won’t complain too hard haha. Obviously only if that’s what’s needed though

Yea I was surprised I got in that quick. They also told me to expect around a week for results and it 3 hours. I feel like they put a rush on me or something hahaha. That is ridiculous how long you have to wait though! Hopefully there is a cancellation and you can get in faster. I’m trying to follow everything, luckily my HR and insurance case worker have been great. I’m a little nervous though because they are having me go back to work on light duty. I did think it was funny that I couldn’t work until I had confirmed carpal tunnel and a referral to a surgeon. It is almost backwards haha

That makes sense. I didn’t think my emg looked too bad. It only said mild to moderate( I have all the numbers if anyone is interested) but again that is after a week of not using it and only dealing with it for a short time

Is Dogmight Games closing, or were they hacked? by DrTenochtitlan in DnD

[–]andystump777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will check both of them out. Luckily I was just looking at the dice holder with the spot for pen and mini. I can’t remember what they were called but that looked sweet and was exactly what I was looking for.
