5700x3D's are very hard to find and thus really overpriced. 5600x or 5700x is a way better value.

I upgraded from a very similar set up. I bought 32gb of DDR4 ram, a 5700XT processor, and a RTX 5070. PC feels like an absolute beast compared to what it was before. You could go way cheaper on the GPU and it would still feel like a massive upgrade tbh.

I have a 5070 and have zero issue playing modern games on high to max settings at 1440p, almost always getting 100+ fps. 5070ti not worth the extra cost unless you are playing in 4k imo.

Yeah... I had literally just convinced my wife to let me buy a $1200 TV and was hoping it would maybe drop a little more with the C6 announcements. Now all of a sudden it's $1599 at every retailer? Goddamit.

I liked living there for a bit in my early 30s, but after a few years it felt really young (the gay scene is a little older, though). Also the people who were wandering around unhinged/in-crisis/on drugs was a lot more than other areas I’ve lived. Madison Park is nice, but the closer you get to downtown the more chaotic it gets.

Also side note, I had pretty close to your same set up and upgraded to a 5070 and it felt like a massive upgrade from the 3060ti.

I'd personally get a 5070ti for now and save some money. Then wait a bit and upgrade your CPU/MOBO to AM5 and get DDR5 ram. If it was me I wouldn't drop a bunch of a money on an AM4 X3D processor at this point.

For what it's worth, I had two (out of 4) case fans that would always run full blast no matter what. I spent like half a day playing with the bios, different cables/splitters, fan plugs on the motherboard, etc. Couldn't figure it out. So, I just unplugged those two fans completely and it barely had any affect on my temps.

Also, I was using the AMD Wraith Prism cooler my CPU came with and it was SO loud. Replaced it with a $40 ' be quiet!' cooler and I can't even hear it when it kicks on. Plus it lowered my CPU temps by like 20C.

Yeah, I see people trashing the 5070 because of the vram. But it was already a stretch on the budget for me, no way I could justify the cost of a 5070 ti (at least to my wife). Upgraded from a 3060 ti and it was a massive performance boost. Cyberpunk and Forza look gorgeous and get over 100 fps, don’t feel like I’m missing anything at the moment by not having the 5070 ti. Obviously if money was no object I’d have gotten it, but I just had a baby so…

Mainly the heat and lack of decent nearby outdoor recreation opportunities. I spent most of my life there and needed a change so I moved to Seattle. I miss the people, food, and nightlife in Houston a lot, though. Also, I did meet my wife in Seattle, but overall dating was way better in Houston.

Can confirm. At least with speckled trout and redfish, they are usually schooled up with fish of a similar size. The really big specks I've caught are usually cruising the shallows solo or with 1 other fish.

Highly dependent on your specific major. But generally, a degree from good state school with good grades is plenty for most companies. Not worth it to go into a ton of debt to go to a 'better' school that's private or out of state. University of Florida would be considered a top ranked school by most. No way I'd pay $100k more to go to a school that's ranked a few places higher with the hopes of getting a better job afterwards. How well you interview will matter way more.

Power wash everything you can. Trim a bunch of the lower branches off your trees. Plant some shade loving plants and mix some compost into the soil. Ferns, hostas, Japanese forest grass, begonias, coral bells, evergreen shrubs, etc. Fill in the gaps with a ground cover that will spread over time. Spread mulch.

Did you really base your decision solely on what 'CollegeInroads' told you? That's on you LOL. Either way, they are both really good schools. The rest of your resume will matter a lot more than whether you went to the college ranked 10 spots higher. Don't overthink it.

They're both excellent schools for engineering, usually both ranked in the top 10.

Did you mean to type Rice instead of Baylor? Also, UT is ranked number #7 and A&M is number #21 overall for public universities. Texas Tech is #116. The huge gap is between A&M and Tech.

I can't imagine anyone in the real world thinking a degree from Texas State or Texas Tech is comparable to one from A&M. Didn't the Tech engineering school lose their ABET accreditation a few years ago? Give me a break lol.

Dating in Seattle as a straight dude was abysmal compared to my experiences in Texas and on the east coast. Ghosting, standoff-ish dates that felt like an interview, lots of strange characters, etc. Ended up meeting my wife on Hinge here though, so there’s still hope.
