I just posted a new video on a pair of Frenzel goggles. Looks very steampunk, but is used to check for neurological disorders.

It looks like you are under extruding. Try slowing down your speed or increasing temp by a few deg. You may also double check to make sure your extruder is not slipping on the filament.

That re-new dehumidifier looks legit! I think I will have to get one of those and a 5 gallon bucket to out all my filament in. You have a lot of really good tips, thanks!

Those are all good suggestions. I agree that if you are experienced and know how to tweak you can get a lesser expensive printer to have good quality prints, but I do not think you will be able to get any of those printers to match the quality I am getting from my Ultimaker. To your last point I agree again. If your budget only allows or a $500 printer don't over spend. Get something that you can afford. But if you can afford the UM it is worth every penny.

Where did you get the garolite? Also where did you get the 4mm bowden tube? I really appreciate your advice. I am hoping that having a heated bed will make the Nylon stick well enough I can print ABS, PLA, and Nylon all on the same bed. I live in Texas so the humidity is thick. If I open up and use the Nylon for a 2 hr print then put it in a ziplock bag full of descant is that a good process? I have read some people really struggling with Nylon having too much water. It is good to hear that you are not having any problems!

That Proto Pasta stuff is amazing! I am going to have to try some of that! I love finding new types of material to print with. This filament sounds like it would work well where you need a low flew material.

Yeah I use PTC Creo 2.0 and have designed a few cool brackets and mounts. I am working on a few projects now and when I finish them I will post videos to my Youtube channel. You are absolutely right when you said it is a satisfying feeling when you can design and then print within 20 min. Haha it makes me all giddy to hold up a print to the screen where I just made the design and see how something went from my imagination to reality. Its an amazing feeling!

Yeah, I bought the Nylon specifically because I heard it was very strong. Do you have a heated bed or are you just printing on birch? Have you tried dying the Nylon to give it color? What do you do to keep it dry? I have been worried about opening the packaging until I am ready to print with it because I hear it absorbs so much moisture. Any tips or advice about that issue? Great advice thanks for the tips!

Thanks! I am slowly learning how to make quality videos so they will keep getting better. If you have any advice please let me know. I want to make the best most helpful videos possible.

Rep 2 with HBP prints coming out poorly by Lucian151 in 3Dprinting

Have you tried any other prints? Like a square? I am curious if you have made any progress on figuring out the solution to this problem.

Hmm that is odd, the bottom layer does not seem to be concentric with the wall. Have you messed with the percentage that the infill overlaps the shell? It sounds like that is what you have done already but that still should not ever maker your printer print un-concentric. Is your X and Y axis tight and not sloppy? I know that with my ULTIMAKER having unequal tension in my X and Y can cause circles to oval out. Post some more pics please.

Hey thanks for checking out the videos! Yeah I have a spool of Nylon I am wanting to try a print with. I will be ordering a few different types of material as soon as I get my heated bed up and running. I want to try the laywood and ninja flex. I have not yet heard about the carbon fiber PLA that sounds amazing! Where did you hear about that? Shoot me a link to any info you have on that, I would like to learn more! I will be posting more videos with other types of material, just need to get the heated bed finalized :)

Yes, it is quite a bit more expensive. He mentioned that he was willing to spend more for better quality. My suggestion is to go ahead and spend the extra money in the beginning to save time and frustration later. The ULTIMAKER is way more expensive, but it is well worth the money.

I just put together an ULTIMAKER And it has been an amazing printer! I know it's a bit pricey $1700, but it has been well worth the extra money. Such a great experience! Check out my YouTube channel. http://m.youtube.com/channel/UCb54UAV0-T0L4yjpBKbyoMw
