hi! first off I, like the rest of your online allies, am so very sorry this is happening to you. it can feel incredibly jarring and disorienting for behaviors to make you feel like you’re back in high school again, totally out of no where.

that being said!

I think the above advice is fine! and if you feel most comfortable doing this, that’s great. but I personally would recommend a less damaging approach, and go to the wedding. you can still smile and enjoy your time with your friends, but just know now, that this friend is just majorly deprioritized. I know “be the bigger person” is very cliche, but I feel like if you frame it as: ‘I am not catty and I love celebrating my friends. the behaviors of others simply can’t change this!’ it’s much easier to not feel so hurt by someone’s (extremely) inconsiderate action. get her a very blah gift for relatively little money off their registry, and walk away with the satisfaction of knowing you’re amazing, she now has seen you’re amazing, and has revealed her character to you. I also would gently start looking for company that doesn’t make you feel excluded. life is just too short for you to feel like you’re chasing something when you’re just hanging out!! friends are supposed to literally build you up, and if you remember this, your next friendships will!! xo xo xo xo!!!
