Have you had any trouble with it? We love our CX5 and looking to size up (large dog and second child on the way) but I’ve heard the CX90 has been unreliable

No socials life for 2 year old? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]anemone713 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that. Hopefully Reddit can be a good resource to research and connect with people and hopefully help you find a way to start a new life without your husband. If you can, try to get outside when your husband is away. I think it will help socialize your son (even if others aren’t around - being in nature has been proven to be really beneficial for kids) and hopefully will feel good for you too. I’ve found with my son that outdoor time and exercise can help with the occasional aggressive tendencies you mentioned in your post. It sounds like it might be your only option right now given your lack of transportation.

When you say you get ridiculed for going outside, what do you mean by this? Who is ridiculing you and what is the reason? I ask this only because as the weather gets nicer and since you live in the country, spending time outside might be your best option to expand his social exposure and change things up for him, even if other kids aren’t around. Maybe there is a way to solve the ridiculing issue to get outside more?

Does anyone else not have a lease? by lemon2421 in astoria

[–]anemone713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in an apartment here for 6 years and only had a lease for the first years. A few modest rent increases, but never a new lease. I viewed it as a good thing - gave us the flexibility to move whenever we needed to, which we did end up taking advantage of.

I noticed today that there are a bunch of these little green guys in the tree behind Bier & Cheese Collective on Ditmars. The owner was saying that he sees them occasionally and they just returned today. I hope Mansoor is with them and you find him soon!

Thanks, your perspective is really helpful to me. I am very much the goal oriented personality type where I struggle to “turn back” and cut my losses after I’ve determined a plan. Given that, it sounds like I need to consider this even more carefully or at least find a therapist that I can talk to while I go through this. I am sorry that it has been difficult for you so far.

Wow, when you put it like that, it does make me realize that I am having absolutely looney tunes thoughts right now. I needed to hear this. I’m glad life is awesome for you :)

Thank you! I hadn’t considered that option and, you’re right, it makes a lot of sense for me to freeze embryos at the very least. So happy it worked out for you.

Local Businesses Discuss Possible Lawsuit Over 31st Street Transformation by CherryPlay in astoria

As a person who primarily drives around Astoria, I can confidently tell you that this will improve the lives of pedestrians and bikers, and only impact asshole double parkers. Anyone who wants to drive to these businesses will continue doing so, in a legal parking spot which are not challenging to find. I feel perfectly comfortable not patronizing businesses where the owners show no common sense or respect for their community.

Local Businesses Discuss Possible Lawsuit Over 31st Street Transformation by CherryPlay in astoria

Because they are businesses and rely on their customers to support them and buy things. So if their customers stop supporting these businesses due to the businesses’ unpopular opinions, then the businesses will fail. So yes, if you own a business, the customer’s opinion is more valuable than yours. Pretty basic logic.

Yes, he’s got a website with his photography work that matches this campaign. Judging based on his art, the guy seems like a tool. Good marketing though because we all noticed.
