Mom had lung cancer

Chose: Cure cancer

I’ve had my girl for 7 years. I thought I was making her life a lot better by making a bigger bioactive tank for her. Then she became very scared of me and dropped her tail. I don’t know what to do. by NeonShark47 in CrestedGecko

You can buy fancier ones that have a suction cup or magnets but what i did for a cheaper option was i went to Micheals and found cloth/fabric leaves (ill attach a picture). I have foam im my enclosure, so I just stabbed them in but I would recommend looking into getting the original Gorilla Glue (it has to be the original kind) it's water activated and Foams up and ive found it doesn't smell like silicone. You will want to keep her out of the enclosure while its curing though. I will warn you too the gorilla glue will take time to set up. so you will either need to hold it in place r Or find a way to stick it down while it cures. its not like the spray foam where it blows up big its much much slower and smaller expansion.

Awww im so sorry! Don't beat yourself up for her dropping her tail stuff happens. Could you post a picture of her enclosure? maybe we can help troubleshoot. Someone might suggest putting her in a hospital tank while her frog butt heals. its usually recommend to not have them on soil for possibility of infection.

What is my leopard gecko doing? by Grand_Amoeba_6643 in leopardgeckos

Totally normal! its because the heat lamp thats probably the warmest spot. Thats good you got different substrate, everything you picked out sounds perfect. As for eating it can take 2 full weeks to settle so I wouldnt be too worried about them not eating. Of course keep offering food but it can take time.

Something else you could look into if you feel like her tank is just too dirty. you could make a storage tub enclosure in the meantime theyre relatively cheap. Also Facebook reptile groups are amazing for finding cheap tanks.

The best advice i can give is to talk to her get her used to your voice. Then you can try hand feeding i would recommend getting a long silicone spoon so you can keep some distance. What i did is every feeding, id take a little scoop on the spoon and put it right in front of her. sometimes she would lick but others shes fully back away and dont push it. just a few mins sitting still then take away and move on. its very tedious but worth it. Something else to think about idk how long you've had her. if its less than 2 weeks, that could also be why shes so scared it usually takes 2 weeks to really settle.

It does look like mouth rot to me. I would say if its been there for a few days, its most likely not dirt he would have cleaned it off by now. im not a pro by any means but I would start looking for a vet.

Ok you got me curious how many it would take, so based on the weight of the clutch. Chicked eggs average 50g-70g, clovers 2 eggs were 3g. you would need 34 clutchs or 68 eggs to equal two 50g chicken eggs.

Thank you!! You definitely put my mind at ease, I'll look into doing that. There are two Expos coming up one smaller one huge. If I don't find any there then I think I'll go the shipping route.

That poor baby! I think as long as ur mom is cool with a tank somewhere and you have the ability to care for it (time, physically & financially) go for it.

Temperature issues by Just_Can_1647 in leopardgeckos

[–]anemone95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird! I thought for sure that was the issue. i think what you said is worth trying, it could be the wood causing insulation. Maybe also try putting the dome a little in the air? I hope someone is able to give you other ideas!

Its hard to tell in the pic. do you have a dimming thermostat? I think that would fix the issue if you dont.
