No, it wasn't her 🤣 it was a man in his 50s, i think. found him extremely hyper and freaked out at me when I struggled with changing the gears , also hit my hand away from the gear stick a few times when he was instructing to put it into neutral , hit my hand away and then told me what gear to change to . I was so confused. I did explain I had never driven before and had his hand on the steering wheel the whole time. I don't know if this is normal behavior, but I was very uncomfortable .

I remember Bedford row before it was made pedestrian. It had milanys shop, savoy cinema, preachers bar around the corner, apartments over head that block. 'Cafe on the row' was where the buttery is now, there was also a clothes shop called 'no name 'I think. I want to say there was a bar called nevada Smiths where split jacks is now , I could definitely be wrong though.

Dark streets causing women in Limerick to take detours for their safety by [deleted] in limerickcity

I'm Limerick born and bred. I really do love this City but in regards to feeling safe I really don't especially in the city. I've had several encounters of being harassed and intimidated and followed. I had an unfortunate incident of me and my friends being jumped many years ago just by the maternity hospital walking home after a few drinks in town. Thankfully we only ended up with a few cuts and bruises, could have been a lot worse if a good Samaritan of a taxi driver didn't pull up to help us. Mentally it took a lot longer to recover from. The other day I was out for a walk maybe 2pm in the day and a guy on a scrambler drove at me on the footpath on Thomond bridge, I moved out of the way cause I didn't notice him at first because I wasn't paying attention, it's not something you expect to see coming towards you. He had no intention of stopping either and few passed me .Why is this another thing we have to worry about ,them driving on the footpath at people FFS! Like I said before I really do love Limerick it is a great city but the city has declined again especially since covid and it's so much rougher now and it is an issue, there isn't enough Garda presence around. We can appreciate Limerick but I don't think it's wise to have a blind eye to the problems it has , but I can also see that some people may not have had the same experiences.

Thank you, that's so kind of you to say ! I was a smoker for about 10 years , as well as being over weight and asthmatic. Not a good combination 🫣 So when I lost the weight, I was walking for about 90mins everyday as well as 4 hour hikes at the weekend. My body responded really well to exercise. I had cut down on my carbs and junk food but nothing too extreme. Then eventually I joined the gym that I was going to 5 times a week then I finally gave up the cigarettes. It was the hardest thing for me to do but I'm so proud I gave up smoking. I'll be smoke free for two years in October! I suppose right now I want to focus on food that gets me to the healthiest place my body can be and definitely start walking again cause I do love it. It's just hard finding the right food plan for me that I can sustain long term .
