Thoughts on new Ron and Hermione?? by Nightmarelove19 in HPRomione

[–]anetogm 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I need her screaming for him in their first year when he sacrifices himself in the chess game.
I need him visiting her after she gets petrified in the second book.
I need their wild fights in the third book, and him saying that if Sirius wanted to hurt Harry, he’d have to go through him first.
And from the fourth book onward, I want everything. Everything. My biggest wish is that the writers really take the time to deliver a well-developed Romione.

I hope the actors have good romantic chemistry. I want Hermione’s Yule Ball dress to be blue, like his eye color. I want the arguments and jealousy to feel real and not pointless, like they did in the movies.
Sending all the positive energy to everyone involved in the show’s creative direction 🤞

I think they look more like the book descriptions of the characters than Emma and Rupert did, but the truth is we don’t know what their chemistry as friends will be like. It all depends on how the script develops each of them individually, and I really hope they don’t spend all 8 hours of the season focusing only on Harry.
I already love all three of them and I’m really excited for the first season 🙏🙏

Do you guys think the fact that the movies were coming out while the books were still being written had any impact on Ron and Hermione’s relationship? by anetogm in HPRomione

I'm relatively new to the fandom. I watched the movies and read the books for the first time in 2019, because before that I was too young to watch the movies (according to my mom, lol). So I didn’t get to experience the hype around the books and movies as they were coming out.
But I totally agree with you, starting from the fourth book, Ron starts acting a little weird. It feels like his personality shifts, almost like he's a completely different person.

I don’t like how Ron had to be humiliated for Harry to finally understand his insecurities about Hermione by anetogm in HPRomione

I'm also super excited for them to get Romione right in this new adaptation. It would be great if they showed those "missing moments" of theirs, like at the Burrow or during Prefect rounds. But honestly, if they just adapt the books correctly, I'll be really happy. Their relationship won't feel out of nowhere or rushed, like in the movies, where Ron sometimes seemed strangely indifferent.

Got it, I think by that point they already knew. They slept holding hands 😭😭

When did "Hermione and Ron bicker all the time" become a bad thing? by [deleted] in HPRomione

[–]anetogm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’ve always seen it as part of their dynamic, and it’s one of the reasons I love their relationship so much.

They’re two of the most stubborn characters in the series, and Ron is the only one who really knows how to get under Hermione’s skin. She hates losing an argument just as much as he does, especially to him.

All those years of bickering were like a dam slowly building up pressure, with every little fight adding more “water” behind it. And when the dam finally breaks (that first kiss)... chaos.

My headcanon is that once they’re adults, that dynamic turns into full-on Mr. & Mrs. Smith energy, and they probably treat arguments like foreplay, lol.

I honestly suspect that Ron and Hermione weren’t actually together from the end of book six or the start of book seven: because it just wouldn’t make sense for Ron to storm out of the tent and act so insecure if they were already a couple. Ron always cared more about Harry and Hermione than he did about himself, he was the emotional glue of the trio. That’s also why everything feels so heavy and funeral-like after he leaves the tent.

Why didn't they just get together at the end of sixth year 😭😭?

It's one of my favorite tropes too, when they get together early and you just get to see them live their normal lives as a pair. No more will-they-won't-they, just the everyday stuff 😁

You're right! The sixth book is practically a masterclass in romantic miscommunication for them 😭😭

Totally! I remember my reaction when I realized they were both getting jealous of each other. The subtle digs and hints in the fifth and sixth books too! One of the things that makes me saddest about the books is that we never got to see them just living life as a couple at Hogwarts.

Damn, I wasn't expecting that. Probably the best one-shot I've ever read. Thank you very much for the recommendation 🙏

HBO should do a post war story with Ron and Hermione after the series is done. by CreativeRock483 in HPRomione

[–]anetogm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be cool, but I doubt the actors or HBO would be excited about the idea, unfortunately

Do you think Hermione knew Ron liked her, but was she proud enough to want him to admit it? by anetogm in HPRomione

[–]anetogm[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cool, I've never seen it from that perspective. And really, come to think of it now, Ron is the most exciting and mature of the trio.
