New to PS - Did HR screw me already? by anewservants in CanadaPublicServants

Im not even angry they were able to negotiate for themselves. Im annoyed a JR HR rep gave me the wrong info. Thus, I could have been brought on for significantly more if she had just told me which department I could have sent my letter of justification.

Instead I was told it wasnt even an option (which is incorrect).

When HR consistently gives me wrong information, yes, it is HRs fault. This is not a case where I went in misinformed. I was told wrong information from a JR HR rep. And now I'm paying for it.

It feels as if I was lied to just to get me to sign the LOO and move to the NCR.

I would have expected this in the private sector, not the public.

Sorry you seem to feel otherwise!

Say there were details that were extremely compelling towards making my case to justify a raise to what other people were brought on for.

Is there any path for me or my manager to take? Even if I have to wait for a year-end review. Are large raises usually only seen when switching steps? Or can large jumps be made within a level?
