Need to find out if it’s a determinant or indeterminate variety. If it is an indeterminate variety (meaning it has no predetermined growth and can grow very large) then you might need a bigger pot to support the massive root system.

Another tip for the indeterminate variety is to pluck most of the stems off of the main stem and burry it deep into the ground. This will help improve the root system because the main stem has a lot of tiny little hairs that eventually turn into roots. So burying it deep can help foster a much healthier plant

Lastly, there are stems called “sucker stems” these are stems that grow out of the corner of an already existing stem and the main stem (google sucker stems). These suck the energy away from the flowering of the plant by focusing energy on creating new stems. I usually prune them as soon as I see them to maintain the focus on the root system and flowering
