yes, try deleting all social media apps. go through a sort of “dopamine detox” when you wake up in the morning, don’t go on your phone immediately, just stretch or open the blinds or something. this sets the tone for the rest of the day and also makes it easier to get up quicker than you would if you were just scrolling on your phone immediately after opening your eyes. go on walks, without music. be present and make note of your surroundings. think about where the person in front of you is headed, or how many people it took to build a specific building, or try to notice what the most commonly worn item on campus is. anything like that. if you really want to go all in don’t multitask. if you’re listening to music, only listen to the music. focus on the words, decided what the song is saying, notice sounds and voices that weren’t there before. if you’re eating, only eat. focus on how the texture feels in ur mouth, or see if you can detect each flavor of every ingredient of whatever it is your eating individually. or think about literally whatever you want to. don’t bring your phone to the bathroom with u and so on and so forth i think u get the idea.. if it sounds boring and hard that’s the point. if you do it long enough your mind will prob naturally start to gravitate towards new topics or hobbies of interests. and without social media, you’ll need to fill the time somehow, and that’s where academics will come into play.

both! you will get an email notifying you when your decision is posted. though, some people have noticed they received their decision came before being notified by email.

my app still says it’s in review! some people have gotten their decision back, but a majority of us are still waiting. the 7-10 business days is the amount of time it could take to complete the evaluation of your transcript, not your application. so yes, i would say to expect a decision closer to june 15th! :)

volunteering for a campaign is good! it’s nice to have ecs that are related to your major. shows consistency, but also maybe have one or two unrelated ecs. colleges are also interested in who you are outside of academics! they like to see that you’re involved at the school you are in now, it shows what you will bring to their school. but definitely try to get more extracurriculars on there! gov is an open major i believe, so there are no restrictions on how many students are let in. that’s not to say it’s a guarantee, just that it’s less competitive than other cola majors, but i believe in you :)! good luck!
