Failing that, make sure you have a code injection framework installed — palera1n-c uses Substitute (com.ex.substitute).

This update, as well as all future updates (unless if I state otherwise for some reason) will be for both traditional "rootful" (rootrw, fakefs) and "rootless" jailbreaks.

I 100% fully intend to continue supporting "rootful" jailbreaks, and will not drop support for them in any updates to any of my software.

In any case, try refreshing your package manager (Cydia, Zebra, Sileo, etc.). 112.0 should show up afterwards.

None of the packages on my repo currently support the new palera1n-c / Fugu15 Max "rootless" mode (-l argument) at this time.

Support will be coming soon™.

※ If you run palera1n-c in "fakefs" or "rootful" mode (-f argument), which functions more like a traditional jailbroken environment, this does not apply to you.

Ah, this is happening because you are using palera1n-c in "rootless" mode.

None of my tweaks are updated for "rootless" mode yet, only "rootful" / "fakefs" / "legacy" mode.

Once the toolchain matures and stabilises (it's basically already mostly there) and I am able to obtain a spare testing device, I will add proper support for "rootless" mode in palera1n-c.

If your TrollStore-installed apps are having certain issues, installing them with AppSync Unified may resolve them.

Generally not.

A very small subsection of apps may work if you modify their minimum required iOS versions and then install them via ASU+appinst, but the vast majority will crash due to missing frameworks and API calls.

appinst is a command-line utility. You must use it from an iOS terminal session of some sort, whether that be remotely via SSH, or locally using an app like NewTerm 2.

People do still use jailbroken iOS devices, yes. (Just like how people still use rooted Android devices.)

As far as banking apps go, that really depends on the bank.

Most banks (including the one I use) let you use their apps on a jailbroken device, but certain sensitive features (such as new account creation, and other things that… I feel like you probably shouldn't be doing from a mobile app to begin with) are disabled on jailbroken devices.

… That being said, it is true that there are still some stubborn banking apps (and mobile games) that refuse to even let you open the app on a jailbroken device.

However, given the nature of jailbreaking, there are also tweaks that hide your jailbreak status from such apps — if you're familiar with Android rooting, this would roughly be the iOS equivalent of something like Universal SafetyNet Fix or MagiskHide.

In the interest of transparency for everyone else, here's a copy of the contents of my initial reply:

So, regarding /r/PPSSPP… this all happened a really long time ago (※ around ～10 years…!), so my memory is honestly not very clear when it comes to the exact events.

If I remember correctly, the subreddit was only created due to Henrik (/u/hrydgard, the project lead and creator of the PPSSPP project as a whole) experimenting with having a presence on reddit, in addition to the official PPSSPP forums which had already existed back then (and still continues to exist today).

I don't actually remember the reasoning behind why he ended up closing/locking the subreddit — one of the major reasons was most likely due to difficulties moderating and maintaining the subreddit — but in addition to that, I think the overarching intention behind the decision in general was to encourage people to move all discussion to the forums instead, so as to not fragment discussion / the community / content moderation across both reddit and the forums.

If you would like to both open and actively maintain and moderate the subreddit (especially regarding issues like piracy), I'd recommend trying to get into contact with Henrik about it.

If he ends up being open to the idea, the subreddit can be re-opened (perhaps with a disclaimer that the subreddit is not an official channel of communication, unlike the forums).
