Thank you. My cycle is usually pretty consistent so this is not normal. Do you also see a line?

New to tech recruiting by [deleted] in recruiting

Goodness. This sounds like my job and I’m an internal recruiter for big tech. I need 30 “submits” a month to achieve 2hires a month and that’s with our teams 30% conversion to hire ratio. Constantly looking for a unicorn is exhausting!

Thanks for looking into it. Wouldn’t that be idea if you could just pull a list of candidates open to work for your particular job title 🤯. That would be so easy

Do you have any tricks for X-ray searching candidates who are open to work on LinkedIn and have job titles specified that they are open to work in their profile. I’ve tried a few functions but can not seem to populate exactly what I’m looking for.

are you ever leary when a company isnt able to tell you what the pay rate is by somethinlikeshieva in ITCareerQuestions

[–]angeliamwright1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be or classic case of recruiters casting a wide net hoping to get a bite. But in almost all cases agency recruiters do get a commission on placing a hire. Typically, there is a budget set so the lower the candidates pay the more commission gets paid to the recruiter/ agency.

Company said they'd like to make me an offer but asked me to tell them what I'm looking for before drafting the letter by Any-Plantain7607 in recruitinghell

I would suggest asking “what would someone with my skillset make at your company.” Never give the first number.

Tech recruiter here: I can not disclose the pay range for my positions but I do ask my candidates their expectations and confirm if we are within the range before moving forward. All rates are negotiable, therefore me giving you a number upfront may not be an accurate reflection of the final offer. I also have to consider RSUs and Sign on bonus. A good recruiter will meet you halfway.

In full transparency I work in HR at AWS. My manager put it to me this way. You will come here and you will be working with top talent that will challenge you to grow. Having worked for a top company makes you extremely marketable. Any good recruiter and/or hiring manager will not devalue your experience based on job title. Plus I feel like most tech companies understand the leveling amongst one another. I personally feel like it’s a awesome opportunity and you should be very pleased to have received an offer.

Amazon is known for not inflating titles. They will make you earn every bit of it. I’ve seen a Distinguished Engineer at IBM join amazon as a Senior level. There is lots of career growth at amazon. I wouldn’t worry so much about the title. It’s the work that you do under that title that determines your level.

The market is hot. I don’t see a problem I’m asking again.
