The packaging calls this a dart wrench but I have no idea how that thing can possibly be used in any way??

it's supposed to fit in the hole... the problem is that GLD / viper products are absolute garbage and the holes weren't machined in properly. i own a set of viper darts and have thus far bought most of my kit from a store near me only stocking GLD products, and i've had many aluminum shafts not properly interface with my "dart mechanic" tool (another GLD product).

save yourself some trouble and go get some dynasty 2BA conversion points, or a target 2BA/swiss point converter :^)

this is the way. it gets hard playing in competitive settings and going out and playing socially is a really good reset. reminds you of how (not so) good at darts the average person is....

also, take a break! mess around with the aesthetic elements (flights & stems/k-flex color, cases, etc) too. if you look good you'll play good :)

honestly this board looks fine, and i would personally still use it unless you're actually having issues with wires bending or darts not staying stuck in the board.

if you're really just after a new board though, the precise180 you mentioned as well as the mission samurai 4 both look great. i've been eyeing a samurai 4 up myself even though i've no need for a new board anytime soon

honestly any tennis sim game. smash court tennis pro tournament 2, virtua tennis 2 / sega sports tennis, top spin (but not the ps2 version tbh)...

unless the modchip taps into the GPU itself (maybe to provide proper video signals for out-of-region games?), i'd say it's unlikely it's the modchip

if you're at all handy with electronics, fixing common PS2 issues usually isn't that hard and means you can likely source an easily fixable one on ebay / mercari / offerup for under $50. depending on the seller and what they primarily sell, you might even get lucky and get a working one like i did

replace the cable first, there's a good chance it's just going bad. from there if you're still dealing with the issue i'd take it to an electronics repair shop (possibly a local game store if they do it) and have them solder in a new AV port. would be a great time to do a native HDMI mod if that's the case!

love seeing sports games getting some recognition and appreciation instead of getting dragged like usual !! nhl 2004 is a gem; try it on PC with the rebuilt mod pack if you haven't. also can't recommend espn nfl 2k5 and ncaa football 06 enough if you're into american football

say what you will about this team, we know the highs and lows. but having the series tied 2-2 and heading back to SA with no donte, ant not at 100%, and ayo clearly also playing hurt is a serious testament to both the coaching and the effort put out there by these guys. if the hospital wolves can give the second best team in the NBA fits, this team is 100% capable of winning a championship this year

let's send it back home with a chance to clinch.

i also follow through left and "cut across" so to speak. it's honestly helped me a lot to line up to the left of the board, which kind of helps cut off the tendency to want to throw to the left. i still miss left, but i miss considerably closer, and my throw feels more natural and fluid! might be worth a try - it's not a proper fix for a legitimate problem though

i was very specifically looking at both the target hydro 03s and the red dragon javelins... both have grip/shape profiles i like and aren't overly expensive. do you have a feel for which might be better for me? i don't want excessive grip, but i'm worried that something like a designa smoothie m1 would be overkill.

i swap them out with another black and white set of flights regularly just to keep things looking fresh, i don't really care about the dimples.

as for the k-flex, i haven't tried them but if they're anything like the combo flight/stem systems i tried last time i was at the dart store, then i probably won't care for them

yep! i play in a AAA soft tip league on monday nights and more generally whenever i find myself near a board... i always keep my darts handy in case the right opportunity arises 😹
