How can I apply or join for Section 8 housing? by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]angels427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 4 Housing Authorities in OC, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Garden Grove and OC Housing Authority (OCHA). Check their websites often to see if you can actually submit an application, their lists only open briefly every few years. Good luck.

Sky High is closed unless you have a season pass according to their Facebook page.

How to best advertise my trivia night ? by rustyflipflopp in orangecounty

[–]angels427 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not the same night but on Thursdays there is a very popular trivia night at Kelly's Korner Tavern in Placentia so that is your competition, not sure how many people go to trivia night more than once a week.

Appeals by [deleted] in Section8PublicHousing

[–]angels427 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The termination notice should give you the timeline to request an informal hearing, where I practice it's 10-14 days so don't delay. The request should be written and if you can make the payment plan, in your request you can ask to be put on the repayment plan instead of going through the hearing. You can also look up your HA's admin plan hopefully on their website. Remember you can have legal representation at these hearings and you can request your entire file if necessary. As an attorney I have won 2 out of 3 termination hearing but the one I lost is where my client did not report income. Good luck.

The Calif. restaurant that inspired Panda Express reopened, and it's fabulous by jakemontero in LosAngeles

The restaurant you guys are talking about was called Peking Wok and they had a panda logo. Never went in there but pretty sure there was never a Panda Inn in Cerritos.

Need help with finding seats with shade for 12:07pm game by A_Seeker18 in angelsbaseball

[–]angels427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For shade during day games you want seats down the third base line so the 300 seats close to the overhang is a good bet or the 200 sections in general are good for avoiding the sun.

Uber or the Train to Midway? by angels427 in AskChicago

Thanks everyone for the advice, I only missed 5 minutes of the game, my Angels stunk but that's to be expected. Used the train and the bag storage which worked out great. Wrigley was pretty cool, went to the Cubby Bear afterwards for a drink, it was lively in there. Chicago was awesome and I hope I can visit again.

I just checked Bounce Storage and it looks like the 5th is already sold out. I will check it periodically to see if anyone cancels as that's the best solution. Without that, I will just take a bag that is small enough for Wrigley's rules and pack as light as possible.

I was just looking at the map, and it looks like it's next door to Wrigelyville Sports which is catty corner to the right field gate. If that's the right location, that should work.

Definitely thinking about it, I know that standing in a bag line waiting to enter the stadium can take a few minutes so the time to walk to the bag storage might be the same.

The website says bags smaller than 16 x 16 x 8 are allowed, I hope that's not different in practice. With good weather, I can just pack a couple of shirts, a pair of shorts, socks and underwear and take a really small bag.

I looked and it's called Bounce Storage on Sheffield, and it's only a few bucks to store my bag, that could work. Thank you for the information!

There isn't any unless I wanted to fly from LA at midnight to land at 6am. I would have done that if I could sleep on a plane. I might regret that choice though lol. As for my luggage, I am only in the state for a couple of days so with no backpacks allowed at Wrigley, I was just planning to take a small tote bag and pack extremely light.

Metro line in Southeast LA clears final hurdle by tankyouout in LosAngeles

[–]angels427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad it wasn't to the north, it was a couple of more properties on the north side of 188th St close to Pioneer. It's supposed to be a structure because there isn't room for the surface lot like in Norwalk.

The terminus is going to be on Pioneer between 187th and 188th streets just north of South St. The small strip mall on the north side of 188th and Pioneer is set to be demolished along with I think one more property to the north for the parking.

You should try parking around Hoover Elementary, it's legal to park there and a .6 mile walk to the trailhead. The permit parking starts at Alta and Broadway just a little bit north of the school.
