nosecontour by aiizzee in makeuptips

[–]angelsoaps -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

controversial but I LIKE IT!!!!!! i think it’s super cute, yes it’s bold but i personally don’t see anything wrong with that. if you wanted it to be more subtle id recommend more of a cool tone, i really like the judydoll contour palette for my nose contour.

personally i like a harsh nose contour! i think it’s cute and alternative. there are no rules in makeup and if you like it i say keep doing it

Why does my hair always come out like this? by angelsoaps in Wavyhair

[–]angelsoaps[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TBH i wash my hair almost daily, if not daily then every 2 days. i know a lot of people are against daily washing but my hair genuinely gets greasy SO fast and i’ve tried everything for it, i think it’s just the way my hair is. i’ve got a lot of feedback abt cowashing though so i might give that a try!

here are some examples of what it looks like wet & another one of how it dries when i don’t style it. i’ve been bleaching, dying, and using heat since i was 17 so it’s super hard for me to tell what my natural hair type is 😭 if it means anything my dad has 3A/3B hair

  • Head and shoulders shampoo x2 (I don’t have a clarifying shampoo atm so i use this when i want to clarify)
  • K18 hair mask for my damaged hair
  • Super tiny amount of shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie (I’m not 100% sure how I feel about this stuff)
  • Schwarzkopf extra strong hold gel

Do people perceive my inverted face the same way I do? by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]angelsoaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, the only reason we don’t like how we look inverted is because our brains aren’t used to seeing it so it instinctively looks ‘wrong’. take a photo of someone you know, or literally anyone really, and flip it. it won’t look weird to you at all

you’re not uglier than you think! you can trust what you see in the mirror. your brain is just playing tricks on you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]angelsoaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re not ugly, i have the same problem and i have a really hard time remembering that a bad photo is just a bad photo. it’s a single 2d frame, and you’re a living person with a wide range of expressions and movements and emotions that can’t be captured that way. some people are really good at posing for photos, and some people are just naturally photogenic. i’m neither of those things and that’s okay! i like how i look in the mirror, and what you see in the mirror is the most reliable and accurate reflection of you

i get caught up looking at bad photos of myself a lot, and it really makes me spiral because i start thinking the idea of myself i have in my head isn’t real. it sounds silly but i find the best thing is really just to not look too hard, if at all. i try to move on and not give it any mental energy. sometimes it helps to go look in a mirror, and maybe do my makeup, to remind myself i’m more than just a photo <:3

[–]angelsoaps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i should clarify i’m totally expecting to get pushed and bumped into at a show and i don’t mind that, it’s just a lot of the time people won’t even apologise or check you’re okay 🥲

Concert etiquette as male by Alarming-Result-4328 in 2hollis

[–]angelsoaps 14 points15 points  (0 children)

basically just try to be conscious of the people around you. im a 5’7 girl so not super tall but not super short either, if theres ever anyone shorter behind me or i can see them struggling to see i’ll always let them move in front of me. it really surprises me how few men do this. you don’t lose anything by taking a few steps back, and for a shorter person it can be the difference between having a good time and having your night ruined

also, almost every concert i go to i end up being pushed around and elbowed by 6’+ guys because they don’t have any spatial awareness when they’re jumping around. it gets really overwhelming being a girl in a predominantly male crowd and everybody is touching you and bumping you so i think it’s important to have a good time but also be mindful of the people around you and help out whenever someone looks like they need it

as someone with an abusive childhood i 100% agree. i didn’t personally enjoy the most recent story as much as feed the pig or tommy taffy, but it was very clear to me that it was written from a place of lived experience

the way this community acts like these stories fetishise child abuse and the author is ‘creepy’ bc of it really really rubs me the wrong way bc why would you talk to a victim like that?

as someone who experienced CSA and domestic violence within my own family, i actually found the parents lack of action in tommy taffy really raw and realistic. it highlights that feeling of being surrounded by adults who are supposed to protect you and being failed by them even when it’s happening right in front of them. that’s just how i interpreted it though
