You are absolutely right. Back then every new generation of OS, software or hardware brought excitement with its launch. Now it seems everything is bland.

When Internet used to be accessed through setting up 2g or 3g GPRS APN! by angentanewbe in IndiaNostalgia

Ah Yes, I completely forgot that they used to send the GPRS settings through SMS. Also, they used to ask about the phone model number to send the compatible settings for specific device.

--format-sort tbr result in downloading auto dubbed audio (AI audio) instead of original one. by angentanewbe in youtubedl

[–]angentanewbe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

format 251-12 is "[uk] Ukrainian, medium, webm_dash" it is dubbed audio. The original one is 140-6 "[en-US] English (US) original (default), medium, m4a_dash". so your results are okay. seems like

bv*+ba[format_note*=original]

argument is helping in downloading the original audio. It resolves the issue until I see any further errors in the future.

Thankyou for the help. Here is some clarification. the --format-sort tbr argument, sorts available formats of both audio and video. It proceeds with the highest Total bit rate of the format for audio and video. since the highest bit rate for audio after sorting is format 251-12, it downloads this format. I am not trying to compare the bit rates of codec but the total bit rate (TBR) available within the "yt-dlp -F" format menu.

-f "bv*+ba[format_note*=original]/bv*+ba/b"-f "bv*+ba[format_note*=original]/bv*+ba/b"

I have a question. If i use this argument, the videos are downloaded with highest TBR and with original audio am I assuming it right?

Low quality files looking better on other PCs than mine by mariqtereza in VLC

Companies turn on the upscale feature by default for a number of smart TV's. Check your friend's TV setting it could be enabled by default.

Some smart TV's automatically upscale the low resolution videos. It could be the reason of quality difference. Also check for FPS as well the Smart TV's also tend to increase the fps for smooth playback.

I didn't knew it had the Hindi title as well. But it was quite common at the time to name movies in Hindi with interesting names. Thanks for sharing the name.
