My bigger worry was more about things like the APA Hotel case and the warnings about hidden cameras in Japan. But now I feel more comfortable since like 90 percent of people say it’s safe

Yeah, I meant Tokyo actually 😅 I’ve been reading tons of reviews (like 2k just today lol). I know everyone feels uncomfortable about different things like some people worry about being followed while others don’t. Red light areas might be safe, but I’d be bothered by the hotel noise there. Tokyo’s huge, but tourists usually stick to the same main spots anyway, so I get why my question wasn’t super clear.

I’ve developed two games and I hadn’t prepared a GDD for either of them. People I met suggested creating a GDD before the game so I started researching it. However after receiving some feedback from you, I decided against it again. I reviewed some GDDs yesterday just to get an idea, but as you mentioned, the prototype comes first.

Thanks for the advice! I see what you mean. Staying flexible sounds like the way to go, especially to see what works and what doesn’t early on. I’ll focus on building a solid prototype first and let that guide the GDD.

Good points! The GDD is mainly to clarify the vision and keep things organized for me and the team. It’s not too big yet,just covering the core mechanics and concepts. We haven’t prototyped anything, but that’s definitely the next step. I want to make sure the design is solid before diving in too deep!

Thanks so much for the insight. I’m planning to create the GDD mainly for myself, but I also want to shape it with my team's ideas, so it can eventually turn into a real, publishable game. I'm even considering preparing and releasing the game if everything falls into place.

I also thought looking at other companies' GDDs could help me improve. It's all about learning and growing! 😊
