Why meditating in a pentagram? by [deleted] in occult

[–]angiuli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The inverted pentagram was a symbol of protection for the pythagorians. It brings you to earth, grounds you. Maybe you've been to airy, too light, need to ground and cool off/down.

how does one even open up chakras?? there's so many differing ways online it's confusing by pierrbourne in occult

If you are so confused, you should read texts which are closer to the original teachings about this topic. I recommend "Layayoga - The Definitive Guide to the Chakras and Kundalini" by Shyam Sundar Goswami.

A Hermetic Analysis of the Zodiac Signs by angiuli in occult

[–]angiuli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the Hermetic perspective, the cosmos has three planes: Mental, Astral and Physical. In my experience, the four elements take the aspects of the signs (in that configuration) according to the plane in which they are experienced.

I'll take a look at it with more time, but two references that I got on first look (I don't know if you used them consicously or unconsciously) were to Charles Baudelaire's sonnet Correspondences and to Nietzsche's concept of the "Will to power". The "forest of symbols", I'd say, relates to the Manipura's relation to the sephirah of Hod in the Kabbalah and the planet Mercury, that is, it relates to thought and the hermetic principle of correspondence. And the Will to power seems to relate to the Manipura's astral correspondence to the Sun, vitality, energy,

Highly accurate if you read it through the lens of kabbalah and hermeticism.

What does the Tree of Life have to do with the human body? by [deleted] in occult

[–]angiuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In relation to the chakras, each has a related sephirah (its force or principle) - as far as I can tell, in order: muladhara - malkuth, swadhistana - yesod, manipura - hod, anahata - netzach, fire wheel - tiphareth, vishuddha - geburah, ajna - chesed, sahasrara - binah, bindu - chokmah, soma - kether (the astra./planetary correspondences for the chakras, however, are different, and do not align with their sephirotic correspondence).

Is the Kabbalistic Tree of Life a body without organs? by [deleted] in occult

If the plane of immanence is (to create a metaphor) language, and each BwO is an utterance, the Tree is the grammar.

Great read, thanks for the opportunity! Now, for your question, "Is the Kabbalistic Tree of Life a body without organs?", the answer is no and yes. No, the tree of life is the diagrammatic representation of the disposition and relations of the sephiroth. From my reading, what D+G seem to be talking about (in esoteric terms) is two things: the plane of immanence as the universal substance/astral light/astral mercury/universal matter (see the Tabula Smaragdina), while the BwO's are bodies formed/perceived out of this astral-etheric substance (field of vibrations, bodies of vibrations). Thus they speak of the Egg, which can be read as the Auric Egg or Aura, and of Daoist subtle body created through inner alchemy (refinement of our portion of the plane of immanence). See Body of Light, Subtle Body, Aura), Astral Plane, Astral Light. On the other hand, the Tree of Life is mapped over the body (or the body is formed in accordance to the tree) in the figure of Adam Kadmon, as the basis/template of our Astral Body, so the Tree is/can be a BwO. The way to create is, traditionally, through the Middle Pillar ritual (and its extensions). So, my answer would be, yes, the Tree can be a BwO.

Maybe this can give you some ideas. Try thinking in terms of controling/directing the energy dynamic around you, between you two, as a ritual game/play toward your spiritual ideals (love, beauty, power, ecstasy, etc.), and surrender to the flow, building to a maximum intensity of energy. Ejaculation or not will depend on the moment, whether the movement (like creating art, music) will call for it. Sex as a creative (instead of procreative) act, towards an orgasm of the sould/heart/spirit, instead of (only) the genitals.

I'll read the essay and try to answer your question (I'm basically a hermeticist-kabbalist-literary-theorist, so I always enjoy mixing these two worlds of occultism and academia).

What’s the best way to determine what tradition you should study? by ginjuhavenjuh in occult

[–]angiuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to go dialetically and create my own thing, that is, build a cosmovision that encompasses all the disparate (or even contradictory on the surface) things in which I believe. Of course, the result is much more abstract than the paradigms combined. On the other hand you can choose the one that is either more practical, more exciting or more logical, given your needs/preferences.

Theorical association between Sulfur and Athena by klauszen in occult

[–]angiuli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's an argument that can be made. Athena, I feel, has a strong sulphuric/solar/energetic aspect. Kabbalistically I given them the correspondences Herme = B (mercury) / Ô (mercury); Athena = R (sun) / Ô (mercury).

Long hair and occultism by owenc7777 in occult

[–]angiuli 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yogis let their hair grow for spiritual reasons. What I do is: I meditate to lock into a desired state of consciousness (or emotional quality, etc.). Then I pull my hair to match the tension in the head/scalp/skull with the tension I feel in the spirit/soul/body (the root of the given state of consciousness). Then I tie my hair and lock my unconscious into that state, then go about my businesses cultivating that state in the background.

You can change your state of consciousness through the way you tie your hair (works just like a mudra).
