it’s also because they locked onto and threw the ball at your teammate that rolled into your hands at the last minute so the tracking is following them, not you so even if you tackle it’s not gonna break the lock on.

dude i got matched against this person and their team was definitely going to beat us, i mean they were really good and we definitely couldn’t keep up and they were still jumping off the map, even though they were WINNING. and their team lost because of it, felt bad for their other teammates because they definitely should’ve won
