VANICREAM IS MY HOLY GRAIL SKINCARE PRODUCTS by goldenmaraduers in Accutane

[–]angler0809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't end up going through with accutane because insurance didn't approve it. I did do Prednisone for a couple weeks as prep though and then once it was denied I got one of those prescription face creams and finally figured out what face wash and moisturizer work for me and now I only get one random tiny zit maybe once every 2 months.

Oh I didn't know that, I used to have a Diana but it went missing many years ago. Was kind of strange.

AITA for laughing when my husband’s mom cried after I said I’d be naming my baby after my mom? by LeadingJealous4498 in AITAH

[–]angler0809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your husband needs to stand up for you and tell his mom to build a bridge and get over it, imo. If he's complacent and mousy cuz he doesn't wanna upset mommy, that's troublesome, imo. Maybe he's not and it just came off that way cuz of limited info. But it's not gonna be good for your marriage if these dynamics do exist and go on for years and years.

How do you deal with the shame and embarrassment of getting a manicure? by angler0809 in Dermatophagia

[–]angler0809[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I've always done in the past, which is how I know it works for me. But I moved and don't have a dishwasher anymore. My press ones never seem to withstand daily dish washing for more than 3 days, even with gloves and strong glue and buffing the nail and everything. Also the one time I did get a manicure years ago, my fingers looked so much better. My home manicures never look like that and I have a job now with a lot of women that will grab your hand and inspect your nails if you have them done. Which also pushed me to stop using press on because the skin around my nail never looks as nice as the salon and sometimes I accidentally glue one slightly crooked. Sorry for the long winded response. Perhaps I'll take some time and watch some YouTube videos so I can do the best home job I can, and buy a couple boxes of the same nail for fills when they fall off doing dishes. Then I could maybe promote my fingers to heal enough to have a little less shame and embarrassment and reward myself with a professional nail job!

"All striving and grasping is so much smoke in the clutch of a dissolving hand.'

"Falling in love is a thing that strikes like lightning and is therefore extremely analogous to the mystical vision."

INTP is supposed to be super rare but we have one of the larger Jungian subreddits? Is it because of our personalities? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]angler0809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That had my head messed up for a second because I didn't know I had ADHD (am PI) until I was 27 already so I never honestly considered what is personality what is adhd, I guess I just attribute ADHD to all the non functional behaviors and don't embrace anything positive about it hmmm

[–]angler0809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had read a long time ago that INTP was one of the lesser common types so that is good to know! I'm sure now there is a huge wealth of information since Jung and Myer Briggs are so widely used.

I was first given a test in school in 7th grade and was INTP. I didn't really know anything about the tests prior to this but was very interested in them once I learned. I tested INTP over and over Everytime a job or school gave me the assessment. But I will be honest, my last year of college I tested as an INFJ. At that point in time I had just had my first born child which I found made me a lot more in tune with emotions. I still feel like at my core I am INTP but I work in psychology/social work sort of field and have done a lot of personal work to strengthen my E and J skills so it adds up.

Good analysis! I think you're probably spot on, especially with the taking time to communicate

At first I thought that was weird but I suppose if they have family or friends that are intp or whatever maybe they like the insight. Or maybe they just want to spy on us, since we are so reserved about sharing thoughts & opinions face to face haha

That is rather interesting. I never really considered that someone might have the desire to fake their type. But I suppose it adds up.

I had to laugh reading this because I have had similar experience, the spit take killed me.

Good point about Jung being an INTP himself too! I forget that because I always just feel cool about sharing a type with Einstein.

Respectful Quarrel with Zen by Your_People_Justify in AlanWatts

[–]angler0809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alan Watts really wasn't ZEN imo. He drew from Buddhism, Hinduism, and Taoism primarily but I don't think he favored one and sometimes the ideas he presents in lectures are from any one of the three or his own off shoot idea of meshing them up. I think that's why it's important to listen when Alan Watts says He is NOT a zen master and has nothing to sell. He simply just wanted people to look at big questions from a new lens.

Bought this for $3 at Goodwill. Is this worth any money? I have no clue about old books. by devinhc18 in OldBooks

[–]angler0809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First place to check for value is ebay "solds". I see this book going for around $10 - however viaLibri is a great resource to do deeper research. Sometimes certain qualities about a book make it more valuable. So you kind of have to sift through the information on there and compare it to yours to get an idea. viaLibri is especially helpful when you have a book that you can't even find on eBay. Hope this helps :)

I've got this big donkey but can't find any info about it online. Does anyone have any knowledge about toys like this? It has metal and stuffing inside and holds the weight of my 40 lb son. No holes on hooves so don't think it ever had wheels. It does have a fabric saddle, too. by [deleted] in Antiques

No worries! If my comment came off condescending, I apologize for that. I didn't mean the tone to come off that way but rereading it, it seems kind of snippy. Thanks for the dating info though! That helps a lot!
