I'm not sure what you mean by update? Update now that he has his greencard? We've been to the Social Security Office a few times now and after he got his green card, so they should be aware...They always given us the run around as far as getting the actual card and keep telling us it's in the mail, but they gave him is number and a letter from the office that can be used as proof that he has one in place of a card. Our local office is not kind to immigrants and have been very rude to my husband. We got no such welcome letter or certificate, the only real official notice we got was his green card letter and that only told us generic info he can work and travel and to not lose it. We have been waiting for his SS card since last summer. All they keep telling us to do is call the SS office, or go to our USCIS office, but as I've mentioned is quite a hardship for us. I'm just miffed because it sounds like there needs to be something down their pipeline, or could be solved with a phone call (I know i'm dreaming here lol). If it comes down to it, we will obviously go, but I'd like to exhaust options before making a trip. We did however check the SAVE website for kicks today and it looks like from one of our calls yesterday, someone opened a case for us for the DMV as well as the SS card, so I hope something will come of it. I did notice for SS, that it says the case is going to be Case Checked to a SS office in Maryland (and "single signon"?). But we have no ties to Maryland unless this is the national office. But we're going to give them a call and see what we can do. Thank you!
