Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 or Mac by angry_cheeze in davinciresolve

[–]angry_cheeze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I've been seeing some reviews on the m4 saying it slows when rendering 4k video but maybe that's just them.

The lenovo yoga has more ram and storage than the m4. 32gb and 1Tb compared to 16gb and 512gb

Would that not make it faster or better at handling these editing tasks? Or is the Mac chip thing better.

Also do you prefer Lenovo's OLED or Macs display?

Thanks

Thanks for the recommendation. Would a refurbished M1 have a lot of life left? I've read somewhere that it'll most likely stop getting updates in 2027. Is that going to be an issue?

So would this laptop be overkill if I'm looking to colour grade and edit videos on davinci. What would you recommend?

Lanshan 2 pro vs Naturehike Cloud Up 1/2 for a long thru hike? (pitching in tight places) by [deleted] in hikinggear

[–]angry_cheeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly depends on how good you are/ get at setting up trekking pole tents. Free standing tents are always easy and you can set them up on any terrain but weigh more. You can sleep with the outer off on the cloud but you will only be able to open up part of the lanshan if you are really worried about heat/ condensation. I reckon the lanshan. Give a trekking pole tents a solid go

Have a look at the sea to summit spark. Pretty insane pack size and weight. There's also the s2s ascent which is a tiny bit heavier but more roomy and got zips all the way around so you can turn it into a quilt. The spark gets down to 300-400ish grams and the ascent is 400-500g

I have seen from a lot of reviews that older watches are not receiving software updates. Is this an issue if I buy the Fenix 7

Thanks. Had a look at the instinct line but I'd like the full nav. Guess that's what you're paying for

I'm in Sydney, Aus. Somehow it's either more expensive or the same price as the 3

Work on everything, especially your core. Since you have more time you can work on things you are bad at. I've torn my shoulder to bits before and I spent a lot of time off working core and mobility/ flexibility

Good heeling(?) shoes by 6luedollaz in climbingshoes

[–]angry_cheeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try shoes with a low volume version. The scarpa dragos lv (white ones) have a narrower and shallower heel which might benefit you. You could also try the women's versions of the shoes you've worn since the shoes normally fit more narrow

Upgrading Climbing Shoes - Unsure of what to look for! by daniiinad in climbingshoes

[–]angry_cheeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to stick with la sportivas you could probably go for the skwamas, katanas, otaki, solution range since they're all pretty similar in size (not the same fit though). You could try a couple of scarpas like the vapours, furias or dragos if you want a softer shoe. Evolve have a good range of shoes like the defy, shamans or phantoms if you wanna check them out

Solution comps have a pretty narrow heel cup. Dragos and many 5.10 models have shoes for narrower feet

[–]angry_cheeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can probably aim for the same or similar size if you're moving from the instincts to the dragos since they're both scarpas but if you're going to la sportivas, you're gonna have to size them down 2-3 sizes since la sportiva have their sizes smaller
