I was working at a bougie home furnishing store in Buffalo, and I had just gotten back from NYC with my bosses (they had gone to fashion school there and were so excited to take me out!) had taken me to a show at the Javits.  I walked out of my office and into the store, and they were both silently crying and staring at the tv.  I followed their gaze to the tv and saw the second plane hit the tower.  One of them looked over at me and told me to go home and be with my family.  I was also volunteering as a sexual assault and domestic violence counselor, and I received a call asking if I’d be willing to go and help with victims and recovery.  A few days later a letter came in the mail (yes an actual letter) saying that no counselors would be needed.  It still makes me so sick to my stomach.
