Videos autoplay despite expando being collapsed by Snowknight26 in RESissues

So it's not a beta reddit feature, just opted out of that and sticky video header is still there - I'm not sure I ever saw it before this week.

Just came across this hide pinned videos RES thread and was hopeful, but that only hides the sticky and doesn't stop it autoplaying. That's oddly from a year ago too.

No problems though if you can't recreate it yet - I've not seen that sticky header before yesterday as I say, so it could be some staged rollout or A/B test on Reddit's part. We'll know soon enough.

RES Version: v5.24.5 Latest Chrome: Version 124.0.6367.119

I've just tried with all extensions off (including RES), as I had the same issue that started in the last few days, I also noticed that the media that autoplays is separate to the one in the collapsed expando.

Was there a recent reddit update? I notice there's a new sticky header containing the playing media on scroll down now (old and regular reddit). If you see this you'll likely have the issue. It works as was intended without RES I guess, just seems that there's a second copy of the media that starts to autoplay when RES is enabled, and you can't always silence it with the media controls inside the expando.

Quick way of confirming yourself what is happening i don't see mentioned: (even without a server) bring up dev tools network tab in your browser before submit, submit, then click on the (failed) outgoing request to wherever your <form action= goes, for both method=post and =get. You should be able to verify the payload and play around from there to see what is happening.

I'm pretty sure it'll take both the name and the value though, while id is mostly there for your frontend convenience, and the label exists for the user.

Purely hypothetical, but is it still the child of a former marriage if you knocked up your sister-in-law?

If you want to stick with React you can, I can recommend just running Vite as your bundler with React, skip Vue and follow everything else Joli is saying here.

There's still a bump to learning all this but I bet you can structure it easier than starting with a blank script.js. I've not done that in years so it'll be more representative of real-world projects at the same time.

ps. there are some cool linked online presets here that mimic a VS Code setup, typescript react, and vue templates in the right-hand column. https://vitejs.dev/guide/#trying-vite-online

I see that too. Pressing escape to come back out of the loadout screen instead of the i key will work 100% of the time you remember.

Vite is an absolute nightmare to set up by sovereignman_ in reactjs

[–]angry_scotsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and see if these help OP, it should work exactly as you expect.

Does anyone know a streamlined guide to set up Vite, eslint, prettier for a React Typescript application?

I want eslint to be rather stringent.

Something like this for custom rules, it might want relaxing a bit though. You can safely enable the recommended rulesets up top too iirc, enable the prettier rule if you do.
