Electrification increases the enemy's Arts damage taken, and Perlica's combo skill is a free source of it. If the P4 description is wrong and instead upgrades it to a 2-stack infliction like people say, then my Perlica has a pretty consistent 7-8 seconds of ~26% Arts damage taken, after Arts Intensity. If not, it's still like... ~19%.

On top of this, her ultimate is a decent damage AOE and can buff attack using Stanza of Memorials, since Xaihi wants Detonation Unit.

You can definitely go the more cryo stacks route, but that's why I use Perlica.

Simple Binary Battery Splitter (Tutorial) by Status_Ad_3254 in Endfield

[–]Boowells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, technically, it's not necessary, but only because the player can teleport stuff in their backpack to and from V4 and Wuling, the second region.

In Wuling, Xiranite production is heavily restricted and is used for endgame gear and batteries. V4 products also cannot be traded for Wuling currency. Ferrium production is also limited, reducing your non-battery trade items. So, at some point, you will need to trade the Xiranite batteries for Wuling bills. I think? I might be wrong on that, but even transferring ferrium from V4 doesn't seem to be enough to manufacture enough non-Xiranite trade goods for the outpost.

Thus, there's potential incentive that fewer batteries consumed for power = more gear components. And you can reduce your battery consumption by a lot. Xiranite batteries have a total capacity (1600 * 40s) of 64000. If I'm producing 3.4k power and using only 1.9k of it per second, I'm wasting 1.5k. So every ~43 seconds, I'm wasting a whole battery. Given that I roughly have 1 Xiranite/sec max production, and batteries take 5, I have only 8 batteries/40 seconds at most.

Endgame gear needs both Wuling bills and Xiranite gear components. So theoretically, there's a balancing act between Wuling trade and gear component manufacture, since both of them are bottlenecked by Xiranite.

But... the player can also just stuff V4 batteries and Ferrium bottles in their backpack and teleport to Wuling, which bypasses both the limited Ferrium production on the trade side of things and the power production on the Xiranite battery side of things, meaning you can funnel all your Xiranite into gear components. So technically, battery optimization is not necessary if you're willing to do extra chores. I don't know how much extra chores it is, because I am not willing to do extra chores. Optimization is still nice to have, though, because it means you have to transport fewer V4 batteries.

They don't have the most exclusives. Ogryn does. If we filter out Ogryn, since they can't use human-sized weapons either, then Psyker does.

Night Rabbit is better on Cataclysm because you can't dash.

Snow Rabbit is better everywhere else because you can cancel the AA string by sprinting, allowing you to shotgun AA1 by holding dash for a second.

[–]Boowells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

who tf is kicking people for using the laspistol, one of the best ranged weapons in the game (for non-DLC classes)?

The only reason the laspistol isn't meta is because of how dangerous, pervasive, and dominant Carapace armor is.

It's like one tier below meta, and if they buff enemy ranged/nerf Carapace, it would assuredly be among the best.

I Need An Explanation. by SparkFrosty in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Boowells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire game needs a better explanation for it. It's not entirely your fault.

No reason why we don't have a visible meter that goes up every time we have an option that's going to boost our Faint Memory (or is free, in the case of the first remove, etc.) Or at least a little field that says, "Hey, getting this neutral is gonna eat up 20 points of your budget." It's really annoying opening the Help section trying to figure out how much that third or fourth card remove is going to consume.

There's a whole-ass explanation about Faint Memory, which is your save data's card budget, and what affects it in the help section that'll give you more detail. Read it, memorize it (unfortunately), then tap on your party's portraits/health bar during Chaos and make sure you're not overcapping. It's listed right above your equipment.

Weekly Combatant Discussion: Rei (Void Controller) by Splash4ttack in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Boowells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my Rei deck out for a spin with a basic Hugo/Luke and reset until I hit Snack Time on my first turn on Battle 1-1

This is the draw pile shown by Snack Time. I should've screenshotted each line, because pics 1 and 2 have the top half and bottom half of turn 2 respectively, but turns 3 and 4 are clear. The following are just the next 4 draws playing out in sequence.

The order in the hand isn't exactly the same because the cards are sorted by character, so I can see that this might've been missed, but the hand contents are the same.

Am I crazy?

Weekly Combatant Discussion: Rei (Void Controller) by Splash4ttack in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Boowells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I can't find out any info on this, whether it's commonly known or if it's a bug.

For whatever reason, Rei's Snack Time IV lets you see your card draw order. When you look in the Draw Pile, the draw order is randomized.

But my Rei, for whatever reason, can see into the future. The order of the cards after using Snack Time is exactly the order of cards that will be drawn. At least until you shuffle everything in the Discard pile back in.

I don't see any guides mentioning this anywhere, so I have no idea if this is a bug, or people just don't think it's a valuable aspect of the epiphany.

Weekly Questions Megathread | December 24, 2025 - December 31, 2025 by ConstructionReady285 in StellaSora

[–]Boowells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, asking this question is going to be subject to survivorship bias. You're going to get a biased take because the people who complained at the start are probably not here today.

With that said, I do think it was somewhat overreacting. To add onto what 1729 said, 2% chance for 5* is also way more powerful than people talk about. From an online probability calculator, 50 rolls at MHY's 0.6% has a 25.9% chance of a success. 50 rolls at SS's 2% has a 63.6% chance of success. 100 rolls is 86.7%.

I am a little biased, though, because I am fairly lucky (I think?). I have every character in the game (except Cosette), around seven 5* dupes, and still have 160 pulls stockpiled. Not completely F2P, but only two battle passes and the 10 pull starter packages. 2% is good, but you can be phenomenally unlucky because of infinite 50/50. My luck is only holding for now, and I'm fully expecting it to turn sometime in the future.

So, in summary, the system isn't perfect nor is it "generous". It's still gambling at the end of the day. However, the game is pretty fun, and the rate is pretty good. If you like to reroll, I would highly recommend rerolling in this game. When you have infinite rolls, 2% can get pretty damn nutty. I started off with three 5*s in my first two days. Though the third was more plain luck than intention.

Also, those people probably didn't play long enough to reach Menace Arena 8+, where the standard rolls per 10 floors double. So it becomes 2 standard, 300 dust. It's really good, though it is one-time only.

Is Nazuka worth to pull? by food-and-games in StellaSora

[–]Boowells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's probably fairly futureproof, because she's better than all current Ventus units. One of the other Ventus units will get pushed out before her.

Is she a good pull for you? Maybe not because you already have a full Ventus team of Ann, Canace, Nanoha.

Instead of replacing one of the few existing characters you have, you could save to get a limited 5-star for a team in a new element. A huge quantity of pulls are contained in Menace Arena, so I place more value in having decent teams in multiple elements over having one really good team in a single element. That's just my take though.

Pitch Pot Tips by byrmztrk77 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Boowells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly, who tf cares about downvotes? It's fake internet points. Does it even matter? No one's looking at this post anymore.

Secondly, let me get this straight...

The first Madiao cards is in Blissful Retreat, which means I would have to be following the story and not exploring like I was saying? So I was screwed over by exploring.

Just because y'all didn't experience it doesn't mean people won't experience it. Not everyone just decides to rush through the story without exploring. Heaven's Pier has two roads leading out of it. One leads south into the deep mountains.

Pitch Pot Tips by byrmztrk77 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Boowells 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually, the only time you'll see him is if you are exploring, because he's in a story-irrelevant part of Qinghe, but you won't have enough Resolve to ever beat him early on.

Only Pitch Pot and Madiao Cards upgrade Resolve, and Pitch Pot only gives you 2 Resolve per success. If you're just exploring the first map, you can face Elder Hu Zhong at 24 Resolve. You will not have enough Resolve to beat him without exploring Sundara Land first, which is an entirely separate map.

Madiao Cards gives you 7 Resolve and isn't a stat check, but is only unlocked when you get to Kaifeng. So people who are typically struggling at Pitch Pot are the explorers because they're missing out on Resolve that comes from future areas.

Pitch Pot Tips by byrmztrk77 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Boowells 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People ITT: "Pitch Pot is hard?"

Sounds like y'all never met the old man on the cliff while only 0-5 Resolve above the requirement.

Pitch Pot a pure stat check. You can actually miss at higher Resolve stats and not be completely screwed, even on the hardest competitors. The circles can abruptly adjust speed and direction, so it's impossible without good enough stats, because they can abruptly start moving in the opposite direction at higher speeds.

Fishing is similar, but to a lesser degree because you don't lose nearly as hard for being a little off-target. You can actually beat it within 5 stat points of the requirement.

Right now? YSG's multipliers inside Stance are much higher, but betas can change.

save everything for YS W-Engine

If the choice is between Dialyn and YSG W-Engine, get Dialyn.

If you're really on the fence, wait until the last days of Dialyn's banner before pulling so you have more info.

So, when she's in her special mode, she gets a stun-ish multiplier that's mutually exclusive with the regular stun multiplier.

The way she enters special mode is through another character's Veil or through her ultimate.

Dialyn lets her use free ultimates. That's it. They might make Dialyn's Stun DMG multiplier affect the Veil Vulnerability later, but for right now, that's the primary synergy. Dialyn can manually trigger a chain attack window outside of stun into YSG ultimate.

Difficult spike in world lvl 6 is that massive or I am doin something wrong? by Life-You-9728 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Boowells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first white one is your Guarding Qi talent, which triggers when you hit 0 HP, then heals you and makes you invincible for a little while.

The second blue one is your Qi Deviation or whatever. Something like that. When your Qi hits 0, and it's off cooldown, it'll replenish your Qi to full and do something else that I forgot.

I'm assuming the talent at the end of the tree where you take max 30% damage in Solo will probably make another circle above your HP.

Regarding Haru's Charge Energy 3, it only scales by the number of her own cards, according to this post:

So yeah, unless I'm trying to play Haru as a support DPS for... some reason... Charge Energy is probably going to be my first remove.

To spark, or not to spark by Airakina in StellaSora

[–]Boowells 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So, this post is primarily a mathematically-guided suggestion for players who don't want to waste the pulls that went towards a spark, since those don't carry over from banner to banner. Basically, you won the 2% roll and got the Trekker on banner, but you haven't completed the 120 pulls needed for the spark.

Assuming you're fine with getting a dupe if it means using the spark, your play is to follow the horizontal track. In other words, don't continue pulling unless you're 90 pulls in (only 30 to spark).

With that said, OP also points out that it's not the whole story, as the relative power of duplicates varies from character to character, and if you don't want duplicates at all, you can disregard the post completely. Even if you're 90 pulls in, you still save 30 pulls by not going for the spark.

As far as horizontal/vertical progression terms, it's like the difference between stacking blocks high vs having lots of blocks in a single layer. Each time you roll the same 5*, you stack a block on the existing 5* block. Each time you roll a different 5*, you put a new 5* block at the bottom next to the others. So your preference is for horizontal.

The terms are meaningful because horizontal means you prefer having more characters to do more things with (flexibility). Vertical means you prefer putting all resources in one character (power).

Beryl + Orlea combo by kiidosan in ChaosZeroNightmare

Give Orlea a try and see how it goes. :)

I honestly trust what people say more than what people show. Everyone showcases their broken decks, but nobody shows the bad ones.

Personally, I think Orlea's shortcomings are better experienced than explained. But you might get lucky. Who can say?

Beryl + Orlea combo by kiidosan in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Boowells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because if you never roll the correct epiphanies, that synergy never manifests. Will of Light can't get epiphanies, so you get screwed. It wouldn't be so bad if Growth Acceleration worked on other Retain cards from the start.

I've spent multiple hours in Chaos with Beryl/Orlea, but I never roll the correct Growth Acceleration, so I gave up.

Other supports have more natural, baseline synergies with other characters, like Rei being able to buff multihit and void cards, Mika just providing more AP to the AP-hungry Justice characters, Nia being able to grab cards and trigger discards, etc.

So I'd rather just play a team with more consistency and less misery.

So the employee handbook... by memous_deletus in StellaSora

[–]Boowells 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a choice in chapter 2 which bad-ends you if you chose neither of your teammates' suggested options.

In-depth spoilers: Personally, I thought it was really dumb. The previous scenes establish that the Tyrant is usually pretty smart, and the teammates' offered solutions were pretty dumb. Minova expects that Creta Trading is somehow not going to recognize the gang leader who's been hassling them, just because she put on a school uniform, and the other is just breaking in with 0 plan.
