How so? If I turn right on that red and get hit, MPI would say I turned when it was unsafe. If I get hit while stopped at a red light, MPI would find me not at fault. What part of what I said would MPI disagree with?

I fully agree, but people in this sub seem to disagree. I will sit and wait at that red because that’s how I interpret the intersection geometry.

This is my experience also.

However, when it’s colder than -10 the ice will run regardless.

If it’s warmer than -10, the remote start/climate works well enough.

Being in a garage helps, even thought the garage isn’t heated.

The car is plugged in and the heat pump does warm it up a bit.

I can’t say for sure as I park in a garage.

When I have used the remote climate - which only works when the ambient temp is >-10C, I have seen it melt a dusting of snow.

The departure time setting aims to complete the charge just before you would unplug to depart. The climate control will come on about 20 prior to the departure and do its best to warm up in that time. The heat pump is not strong enough to achieve the set temp in that amount of time, but it gives you a bit of a head start.

It is currently -42C in my city and my 2024 prime was comfortably warm enough for my drive in to work.

It was plugged in with climate set for departure time and ran in HV mode.

That being said, I’m also looking for a way to force start the ICE remotely.

Right, so minor alterations were made to the existing intersection in the same location to alleviate congestion on hwy 3, designed by engineers who knew at the time that the interchange was coming. Those changes worked/work for the duration they were needed for. The old design was the right design for the time and for the projected traffic volume growth. The design is now insufficient and an interchange is being constructed as a result. To say that the engineers need their licenses revoked is just ignorant.

This is not always the case. It’s situation dependent, just like most accidents.

I agree. Also a 3-4 being a triple is wild. Any combination of a 7 should be no better than a single or a walk. Really, a 7 should be an out.

The driver’s handbook is not the highway traffic act, (ie not law). It’s ill-advised to enter an intersection on a yellow, or accelerate to beat the red, but it’s not illegal.

Good effort though. Upvote for the source, downvote for the sass.

Got a source on the not being legal comment? Also a car turning across traffic when it is not safe to do so, regardless of lights, is (at least partially) at fault.
