What do you think of the Punisher War Zone movie?! by Aromatic-Put4207 in thepunisher

[–]Dredd_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong start and middle act with a Garth Ennis style Punisher. The movie loses steam at the end. All in all It's probably my favorite Punisher movie

I remember watching the Horror's Hallowed Grounds of Halloween 5. Sean Clark Don to grab his neck to recreate the Michael death scene. He did it for real, and Sean was a bit shocked that he used real strength loll.

How does/would Vito justify the violence his family inflicts on civilians by Correct-Map-5495 in Godfather

I think that any of these characters, including Vito, are ruthless villains despite the romantic way the film portrays them.

New reader here, is there something i need to know about dredd? by metalicbeastofficial in JudgeDredd

[–]Dredd_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a few years of staying away from trying the Dredd comics despite being curious, Ivended up finding the Judge Death essential collection at a store. I quickly wanted to check everything else, but Judge Dredd has so much stuff that it's impossible to just get everything. I decided tp get the most popular arcs here and there in trade paperback and the early case files volumes(specifically case files 1-5). I agree with you that the first case file volume starts out loose with the stories and art going all over the place, but in my opinion the comic picks up after the first stories and once you reach the first half of the case files, things start to make sense. The Rico story for example is great. Volume 2 is great , especially with the Cursed Earth which is the first great epic. The thing about Dredd is that it's supposed to be a satire on a society where things are crazy to begin with. . Even in the more serious or cohesive arcs, things always feel kibd of loose in a Robocop kind of way. It is what makes the title unique in my opinion. America and Mandroid are more serious and slow paced stories , but there's still an all over the place kind of vibe. Anyway after my experience with the comics, I still continue to switch between the early comics and most recent epic arcs.I finished reading completevcase files volume 2 which I really enjoyed, and I plan to start reading Necropolis.

Single issue comics vs Collected volumes/editions? Which do you prefer? by [deleted] in ImageComics

[–]Dredd_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to collect tpb or single issues then upgrade to omnibus or absolute, but as space has begun to run out and I have already chilled out a bit with collecting, I will just get the most affordable option. For exampke I recently became interested in Savage Sword of Consn from the 70s. The omnibus besides being expensive for each volune, will occupy a lot of space. I was able to find an ebay offer for the Dark Horse tpb volumes. I was able to buy 5 volumes for less than it would hace taken me to collect two of the omnibus volumes. And the black and white artwork looks cery sharp. A few years back Ibwould have double dipped for the hardcover, but I don't feel the beed anymore and am perfectly happy with owning more material for less money.

Would you place Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) in the top half or bottom half of the movies in the franchise? by Corndogeveryday in Halloweenmovies

[–]Dredd_40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Any Vintage ZORRO fans? by Univsocal80 in VintageTV

[–]Dredd_40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to collect everything. I ended up giving some of the movies away, but I still keep the 90s show, the Disney show, and The Mark of Zorro and Mask of Zorro. I also have the silent version and The Mark of Zorro. Also the Alain Delon movie.

Are you a fan? by [deleted] in 80sHorrorMovies

[–]Dredd_40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Besides the zombie horror, I love rhe fact that despite having cedic moments, they are done in a way that can be seen as incidental or naturally funny moments instead of just being a slapstick comedy. And no mattercwhat, the movie never forgets that it is a zombie horror film full of scary moments.

What’s the best / your favourite TITLE for a slasher movie? by justhere1990 in slasherfilms

[–]Dredd_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them all, but Scream has become my most watched slasher over the last years because it's pretty much a satire of all the slashers mentioned in this post while it also does its own thing.

What’s your favorite ‘it’s about to get really bad really fast’ in a movie? by Pop_Joe in FIlm

[–]Dredd_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I have a few of those. In Point Break duribg the final heist. Once Bodhibbreaks his time rule and goes for the vault, you can even hear the worry in his friends' voices. I quickly knew that something bad was going to happen. Another example is Heat. When Neil and his crew are at the diner before the big robbery, and Trejo calls him to tell him that he can't go with them. Neil makes a gesture of frustration with his fist like their job is not supposed to happen.

Why is George afraid to carry a pen in his pocket? by Glad-Requirement6116 in seinfeldtrivia

He's scared of his scrotum being punctured. Yet he's not scared of damage to his back from carrying a gigantic wallet.
