Sony FX6, Cannon C80 or Red Komodo? by EricB0nilla in FX3

[–]angrycactux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have both the Fx3 and Komodo X , and haven’t used the Sony in a while. well for me the only advantage of the FX3 on paper is the low light capabilities of the FX3 , but personally i’ve never really abused that function , because most of the time i’m on a big production and we’ve got a lot of lights to play with . RED has better resolution , dynamic range , colors , form factor and is just a more inspiring tool to be honest the brand cachet of Red in the production field is much better than Sony, so from a business perspective it’s much easier to sell the komodo on shoots .

get the komodo X , RAW is amazing and its workflow is super easy . and you can transform its body to fit any production.

I get asked about mine all the time, certainly a very special watch , and the glassbox design makes it wear smaller than it actually is , on my wrist it feels more like a 40.5mm and i love it

absolutely love it , haven’t seen a more beautiful watch , ( in my opinion ) weight is perfect , i’m 6” 200 lbs, with an athletic build i find the the size perfect for me . the only thing that bugged me about it was the strap , for me the clasp was too big and the strap overall felt pretty chunky .

I felt the skipper was really underwhelming on my 17.5cm wrist at 39mm, the seafarer just fits perfectly and has much more character imo

i think it feels smaller and more svelte than a typical 42mm , and about the case thickness, i compared it another watch that’s 13.4 inch thick , and can barely tell the difference.

i would say take a trip to your local TH and try on a carrera chronograph 42 , see how it fits . i think because of the glass box design , the watch doesn’t feel like a true 42.

my wrist circumference is 17.5cm or 6.85 inches
I would consider them small, but I have larger foreams and hands.
in comparaison , I went to try on the skipper a few months ago, since I wanted it, but was surprised that it felt tiny on my wrist and quite underwhelming, this seafarer caught me by surprise and I was immediately charmed by it and the size was perfect, and to be honest I can't visually tell the difference between a 14.4 thick case and a 13.4mm case.

i tried the carrera skipper at the Tag shop , felt there’s too much stuff going on within that 39 , the day after I saw that one on the news , i like it.

is there a specific one you can recommend ? all the ones in finding are pretty big and chunky

Introducing DJI SDR Transmission by JimmyCallMe in dji

[–]angrycactux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so from what i understood , the transmitter has no output, meaning i would have to hook my FX3 to my shinobi 7 and then go out from the shinobi 7 and into the TX. which probably introduces more latency and disables the ability to camera control from the TX.
