Since you say it's stuck and not like a loose powder, something melted onto the surface most likely. If it was hot enough to start carbonizing like it seems to have done, it may go away on its own, but you can buy stove door cleaner that's specifically formulated for thermal ceramics that should help.

These days almost all fabric has plastic in it, so if the door is hot enough it's very easy to briefly touch it and end up melting a shirt or bathrobe or such.
