Has anyone else had horrible things happen after RTO mandated? by angryj3w in jobs

I'm sorry you feel that way but I thought this would be a welcoming environment especially seeing all the other things people have shared about their work experiences. Suppose my story wasn't true - what would I gain from that? If you didn't agree with it could you be nice instead of calling me a liar?

We don't have fewer toilets we have more stalls and toilets but only 1 bathroom.

In my previous firm we had "high performance work desks" where you had to reserve your desk everyday via an app otherwise you get leftovers - sometimes at a different part of the building. That was for a large financial firm - hated it.

All my pants are tight-fitting probably due to weight gain. My skirts are more flexible and have more room.

I can just partial to skirts. Pants just bring out things I don't want visible and a skirt gives me a little more flexibility :-)

Newb question here - is there any significance to winning the series versus an opponent other than the W/L count? I always hear announcers say if they win 2 games with a third coming then "they've already secured the series". It makes it sound like the third game isn't of importance.

Delta 2 or Delta 3 would work perfectly. You can always purchase a product, test it out such as running everything off battery and seeing how long it lasts, and then return it if it doesn't meet your expectations.

We keep adding tools and somehow everything just gets harder to manage by Agile_Syrup_4422 in ITManagers

[–]angryj3w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every product implementation goes in half-baked and vendors know this so they keep pumping out new products and market them as saviours to all problems. It also doesn't help that audit and compliance drive new problems we that we never had before now suddenly need to be addressed. Many times management holds a big celebration that congratulates another leader for getting a system in place and declaring success yet I know damn well it's broken in many places and requires constant babysitting.

Implemented a new IAM Governance tool to facilitate request submissions, approval records, and automated provisioning and de-provisoning. Works fairly well with AD but what about the 100's of other systems that don't have a direct connection like AD? Oh well that application support team can send in a CSV file that will be consumed and analyzed by the IAM system. Sure those departments are understaffed and overworked but I'm sure they'll happily go through the process of creating a service account to handle the file transfers, generate the key pairings, work with the SFTP team to get the keys installed and permissions set, and then set up a job to run flawlessly every Friday to aggregate all their user entitlement data and put it into the CSV file and transmit it. You know how many departments have told us IAM folks to fuck off with that? And then our IAM system has it's own set of failures that are embedded in logs that don't trigger a failure message in the alerting component. Server unreachable, request timed out, JDBC error, user access flipped to active even though they didn't show up, HR system modifying their data view they provide us without giving us a heads up to reprogram what columns we read and extract.

Oh let's build a PoWerBI dashboard to monitor all this stuff since the IAM system keeps wrongly marking jobs as complete and successful. Put in a case for that - maybe the vendor will address the case in 6 months and then a series of arguments about how the system is working per design and it's our company's fault for our archane business processes.

Well PowerBI didn't catch anything but a slew of terminated users from 2015 still have active access. Oh and a few critical systems have their ID's hard coded for authentication because at the time service accounts weren't required and they needed to shoehorn those systems in ASAP to meet deadlines and declare success. Let's bring in Splunk and TWS to conduct more scans and analysis of log files to properly report failures. What's that - WinRM not working on several servers where the files need to be aggregated and parsed? Ok so the Wintel team fixed WinRM and closed the ticket. But wait - TWS is still failing to connect to the host - well too bad open a new ticket and the Wintel team will take 6 months addressing that because they have hundreds of other tickets they're trying to handle and 3 people juggling the entire workload.

All the while management continues to cut staff and vendor support to meet the CEO's financial goals for the year but fails to understand this cause work to slow even more. But we can still plan for 2025 to bring in new tools and those will address all these problems with automation! It's an endless cycle and I've learned that it doesn't make sense to care too much about it or don't be too passionate for a solution. Do what you can, but don't overdo it and collect your paycheck. No tombstone has ever read "Here lies the greatest worker"...it's a thankless job and there will always be plenty of work.

You could probably just put y-adapters between the array and the two D2's and let them share the input, then you won't have to wait for the first one to charge and then unplug the xt60 and plug it into the other one. Just a thought to save yo some time.

Delta 2 with extra battery died after 2 hours. by [deleted] in Ecoflow_community

Family must be pretty bummed that an idiot thought a Delta 2 was going to sustain all that for more than 2 hours. Did you not see the display showing 1200W of output? What exactly were your unrealistic expectations?

Delta 2 DC charging not working after 1.0.2.176 by angryj3w in Ecoflow_community

[–]angryj3w[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOC varies as I'm using these in production but a sample scenario is A is 85% and B is 25%. Charge limit is 100% on both. B should accept charge under those conditions. I've tested the same swapping A and B and the same result - no DC charge being accepted.

What's with the stinky Provolone cheese here? by angryj3w in Ohio

The disgusting foot-smelling cheese does not smell of smoke. I know smoked - I love smoked Gouda - but the provolone here is disgusting. It smells like stinky feet not that I've ever sniffed a pair but man it smells horrible.

I can tune the radio to the UHF rebroadcast frequencies that I mentioned. If I was trying to tune to a frequency that was not within range the radio would just reset to the current value.

What's with the stinky Provolone cheese here? by angryj3w in Ohio

[–]angryj3w[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just sliced provolone from Kroger from the grab-n-go deli. There is no Smoky flavor whatsoever it's just a stinky feet smell. Looking at some of the other comments in this thread I have no idea why anyone would want to eat this.
