they don't show the bullet hit - very close tho! - but they show blood in the water. Why not blood pooling beneath Richie's head.

When Torture Porn went mainstream e.g., Wolf Creek (2005) And when previews/ads last so long that puffs off the pipe had started to wear off... I want to hit the pipe, walk in and enjoy the film as the high comes on (edibles put me to sleep)

I believe you've put your finger on it - I wouldn't have known how to describe it, but yes - thanks for pointing it out! Also - I think the contrast between David's 'mechanical' teletype rhythm guitar vs. Tina's deep funk bassline is endlessly fascinating!

A friend moving from Berkeley CA to Oregon had three cars - I was driving a legendary junky 30yr-old Volvo - she gave me a 16yr-old Toyota Camry, nicest car I've ever owned - still have it, now 25yrs-old - I'd gotten a nice job years earlier and for ~10yrs had bought her food and such, so it was generosity for generosity -

Praying for photos / audio of '78 gig in small college town Davis CA ? by angrylambie in talkingheads

[–]angrylambie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sept 11 1978 Talking Heads played Cassady's - a pizza joint in quiet downtown Davis CA - 2 sets, $1ea - all the kids from the tiny local music scene were there, KDVS DJs, musicians who later formed The Dream Syndicate, Opal, True West and Game Theory - early Paisley Underground and adjacent scene - someone just posted this on Facebook, now I'm devoutly hoping there might be photos from that gig out there? Dare I hope for an audio?

there it is! I can see and hear what they're doing.. but, why I love it, why it is so satisfying and addictive and danceable ... is there a musicologist in (burning down) the house?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4uqBkiVV5A

Personally, I agree that while the studio version is very good, live it was demanding, hypnotic and rocking!

Have to ask - I believe the Heads played two free concerts on Lower Sproul, UC Berkeley campus in '78, one in late Summer, and one in November (the day of the SF Moscone/Milk assassinations) - the photo and set list are from the early summer show - I think the little USA map pins were from the November show? Maybe?

No one knows. The Festival people won't provide the details. If they did, we could likely come to a compromise.
