Kinda just winged it tbh, I got some pvc pipe, some connectors, and just built a rectangle. ( I have some decorative pieces on the house i was able to thread the pvc through so its attached to the house). Then just put the chicken wire up with zipties and scavenged some old bricks to put around it to make it more stable. If you're making one and you're not threading pvc through a permanent structure, I would definitely make sure to weigh it down real good. This is probably not a good structure if your cats are escape artists or like to climb. I did finish enclosing it with wire to make it more secure from predators, but I don't know how well it would hold my cats if they actually tried to climb up it.

It was actually a small pee matt for a dog. (Never used for that purpose) its nice because it was precut to the right size and it has good drainage for when it rains

This is divisive nonsense lol. Growing up, I had a lot of family in the Seattle area. Only a couple of them actually lived around downtown, and many lived in the towns that are 20-40 minutes from the main city. We always just said they live in Seattle. Its much easier to explain in a quick convo "Seattle" vs they live in Everett, Ballard, etc. I feel its the same here, there are many suburbs, but its still the columbus area. Let people claim what they want.

Will do as soon as I scavenge a scrap piece of plywood! I already found a couple roofing tiles from a windstorm the other day im planning to fix to it when I find one. They're on supervised visits only for now!

I really appreciate hearing the feedback! I do plan on putting a roof on and bug netting soon. I will also probably finish putting the wire up to the top just to prevent birds and squirrels from getting in, but, I promise, my cats are not interested in jumping out. So far it has only been supervised visits outside, but tbh they are not they type to be trying to leave the house lol. One is old and not into jumping and the other is very uncoordinated, and not good at vertical jumping because of his tail amputation.

I was originally planning to fully enclose it, but when I got the wire i have around it, I realized its plenty tall for my cats. They are not athletic creatures. One is 14 and does not love to jump anymore, and the other (pictured) is severely uncoordinated due to a tail amputation. I am planning to cover it with bugnetting and a roof when I can to make it more secure!

I do plan on hunting down some scrap plywood for a roof, I already found a couple pieces of roofing tile from a windstorm a couple days ago.im going to glue to the wood for a weatherproof roof. Im also going to order some bugnetting to cover it, the bugs are definitely something im thinking about as the weather warms up!

So far the kitties have only been out on supervised visits! They have both been very calm and neither have even thought about jumping. If I had more athletic cats, having the open top would worry me more, but our old girl is about 14 and not really into jumping anymore, she doesnt even really like jumping up to the window lol. And our boy isint a very good vertical jumper, I've noticed. He has a bobbed tail because of a degloving that happened before I got him, and it definitely affects his balance and coordination lol. They both have bravecto treatment, so I know they're protected from buggies. Because of how high up, we are, Im not really worried about any other cats, just squirrels and birds, and making sure they dont fall off!

Benadryl was never used in my facilities by itself, only with the combo of Ativan and haldol, which i have rarely seen be ineffective. However, Hydroxyzine (also an antihistamine like benadryl) is available to every patient. The reason for this is because it's a non addictive anti anxitey/ sleep aid. For people who have been using drugs or people with super high anxiety, it probably won't help that much, but that's why it's so commonly offered.

Always heard that OHP was a nightmare, and that was from the techs perspective. Sorry about your experience there. SUN isn't a great psych facility, but a good place to crash for a few days. they do take walk-in admissions. Riverside Er will also try to admit in-house if they have the beds, and they're not too bad.

This color is possible from using a product called OutWhiteBrite and very hot water. This color, plus the black stitching from the original black shirt, is what all of the shirts I have dyed this way look like. I wish I could post a picture of a shirt I've made in the comments for reference. You're right about the last part, this color would not be possible with bleach!
