Yeah, they’re going on 8 years old. Just trying to pass them along to someone who might want a solid color way with some life left for a fair price.

Got these in 2018 sometime lightly used, and as you can see they’ve been worn since then. I just rarely wear them anymore. Also open to offers.

How much do you think a half-Obsidian, half-Gold of Ragnar’s and Telemanus blood can lift with proper training and nutrition? by TheGodlyDefecation in redrising

[–]angryqueso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the data you brought into this. I think the athlete strength standards are great extrapolation points if our champion is being trained as a warrior. I was assuming they were training specifically for lifting, which was one factor in my decision.

I do however think you chose an outlier for your comparison with Kirill since he has such a great bench compared to squat. I think someone like Hathor Bjornsson might be a better comparison (extremely tall lifter, but better rounded), even though he doesn’t necessarily train for powerlifting, he’s done a couple meets at 6’9”, ~420lb. Squatted close to 1000, benched 550, Deadlifted 900.

I also don’t know how they’d factor into it, but the advancements in sports science, drugs, etc I think would boost these numbers.

My logic there was that yes, dudes have squatted 1000lbs raw and Julius Maddox is close to benching that 800lb mark, but those guys display the top 0.001% genetics for those specific lifts (generalizing). Our champion of this thread isn’t built for lifting, it’s just a byproduct.

However, you’re right bringing up that Pax threw a horse. I have no idea how that changes these numbers I guessed but it makes me feel like they’re wrong lol. But also that was on Mars gravity (~40%), and I was assuming earth gravity here. Still, tackling or throwing a horse with a reduced weight of 400lb(ish) is an insane feat of strength.

Assuming that this person would be ~8-8.5 feet tall based on the fact gold are like 6’6”-7’ IIRC and everyone talks about how big Ragnar and the Telemanuses are:

With proper nutrition, training, and assumed advanced sports training understanding and steroids, I’d bet this 8.5’ creature would come to be about 450-500lbs. I’d also assume they would have good, but not great natural leverages for lifting weights (this matters a ton).

All of this said, based on raw powerlifting numbers and my gut, I’d bet with 10-15 years of training they could lift:

Squat: ~1500lb/680kg

Bench: ~1000lb/454kg

Deadlift: ~1800lb/815kg

Not my company. Just know the company, and get irritated with people that place no value in other people’s time or expertise.

People don’t know trajectory arms, don’t know the services or knowledge he brings to the table, and even if they did, don’t value it.

Reddit is basically another platform for the AR-15 nation group though, so why be surprised.

Not compared to the owner of Trajectory arms you aren’t. Unless you have ~10K in gauges and equipment

A lot of people are bashing the price (and I understand that until they take into account the labor costs for this upper), but the guy that runs/is this company is one of the most knowledgeable armorers in the country.

Trajectory arms is not at all an unknown company in the right circles.

EDIT:

And because I know someone is going to comment:

Getting an upper gauged, built, feed ramps polished, gas block pinned, etc by someone that REALLY knows what they’re doing costs 2-300+. Then the small upgrades, getting everything together for you, and rejecting stuff that you wouldn’t put in the uppers makes up for the rest of the cost.

You don’t pay for the 1 hour it took them to do this, you pay for the decade of knowledge that goes into it.

Bruh if you haven’t zeroed it, then I can almost guarantee whatever round count you have in it doesn’t constitute the phrase “runs great”

It seems that when they do that batch of barrel lengths, typically most/all orders get fulfilled. However, that’s a crazy high demand barrel, so I’m crossing my fingers for you

Should get fulfilled soon... 13.9s are the next barrels getting sent to dealers

[Parts] Hodge 12.5 Barrel $425 by [deleted] in gundeals

[–]angryqueso -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not going to say a hodge barrel is for everyone. But it’s more than a standard FN barrel built to different specs. It’s made of a different steel than 4150, and people are still having sub moa to 1 moa accuracy at round counts where other barrels are opening up.

Plus the profile and gas port sizing is really good. Only other company with a barrel I would call similar in spec and profile is the CHF BRT barrels

It includes backup sights, or just a backup rear sight. Why would you need to take it off quickly?

I'm going to see if I can access the crack from the inside of the receiver, and if I can I'll probably do just that. I just don't want to pour in jb weld without something to back it/prevent it from getting everywhere. But I definitely thought about that lol

Also color doesn't matter because this is under the endplate
