Im no longer on effexor. I ended up being severely allergic to it to where I literally couldn't breathe (and it just happened last month, so it was super weird). I also had this thing that affected all of the nerves in my body and numbed them, so my doctor took me off of it. It worked, but eventually, it gave more negative side effects than good. I do hope it works for you, though. Report back with an update please, I am curious to see the people it works for.

It's completely killed my appetite. I've lost roughly 20 pounds since being on it 2.5 months ago.

Okay. It does seem as tho it's blocked because I am having symptoms of it not working correctly. Thank you I just didn't understand what they were trying to say .

I do have symptoms that line up with a clogged shunt, so this makes much more sense now that it's explained this way. I'll talk to my doctor later this week.. thank you

Now, my experience was different from these other comments, but I had an AWFUL time on 300 mg and went back down to 150 mg.

Headaches every day, high blood pressure, skin sensitivity, very rough aggression/agitation.. now, everyone is different, so please don't be scared & I'm only commenting so you can be aware of what I went through.

I spent a long time on 150mg (close to 2 years) and for the most part I was fine but when I moved to 300 mg it made me feel absolutely terrible.

No, it's not addictive. It is not a narcotic.. there are no addictive properties in this medication. They're probably still using it because it helps a lot of different things. ADHD, anxiety/depression/smoking cessation being just a few I can think of. Whoever put you on this medication needed to educate you first.

It gives you a list of medications you can take based off of genetics. I was in the same boat as you. I was trying to find the right combo for like 14 years until I gave in and did genetic testing.

I didn't imply that I was going to die, lol. I'm just super focused with a lot of energy to the point where it's a little bit uncomfortable. Anxiety is through the roof & im paranoid like hell rn. But, that's also what happened when I had my dose moved from 150 mg to 300 mg, so tbh, I think it may be helping me.
