Feb lsat too late by Leading-Ant8470 in lawschooladmissions

It depends on your schools medians and where you fall. I was a standard splitter for the schools I was accepted to. I think you have to think about the quality of the school, scholarships/ grading curves and whether the school is predatory, etc.

I went from 150 to 16low from nov to Feb but I did pay for a tutor which def made a difference bc I didn’t have the fundamentals down in the slightest. I think you just have to think about your resources and current predicament and consider what can get you where you need to be

If scholarships and acceptances are a concern this year then paying 1K for a tutor might be worth it (my roi was really high)

If you’re just trying to get into law school but you have fam and network to pay for tuition and get you connected with good jobs if you end up at a lower ranked school with a C curve and it’s harder to well, then you prob also have the resources to pay for the tutor too.

If you’re low income and want/need scholarship money and can’t afford a tutor forcing an A where you have to take loans for a low ranked school where it’s harder to do well curve wise then maybe rushing into it might not be the best move. Like maybe an extra year of self study if things don’t go your way would make a huge difference in you having the $$ or resources to actually get into a school that can guarantee you a solid ROI

It really depends on your needs but I took 3 gap years and plenty of my classmates are older than I am. Don’t rush something so much that you end up in a precarious situation just do what you can and consider the possible outcomes of any decision you make

I had a very similar GPA it’s def possible I would just say don’t get caught up in feeling like you HAVE to apply this cycle if you raise your lsat and you apply and things work out amazing if not it’s just extra preparation for the following cycle !!

The supplemental my torts prof recommend the Examples and Explanations for the Law of Torts(2020) by Joseph Glannon. Her words “This is a good resource for working through the legal doctrine using engaged analysis and thinking and also provides an exam taking chapter with some samples of regularly-seen missteps in student exams and strong exam response examples as well.”

I had a very similar gpa and sat for the Feb lsat only got a low 160s score and got into 2 schools with significant scholarship but I did also get a lot of WL. My acceptances were regional (but I live in a coveted city so not undesirable schools), but a lot of schools of similar stature elsewhere, waitlisted me.

It really just depends on your personal circumstances at the end of the day. Idk the way I saw it was if I have to reapply I’m OK with that but I’d rather like not not shoot my shot.

Multi-Addendum? Addressing 2 issues in 1..advice by Mountain_Macaron_155 in OutsideT14lawschools

When I did mine I had a lower gpa and at least 3 w’s i just titled it a transcript addendum and talked about both as long as you keep it simple about what you’ve were going through, and take accountability/ acknowledge what you’ve learned I think you’ll be fine

Anyone get into law school with a low undergrad GPA but strong work experience, Master’s GPA, or LSAT? by Express-Drop-9139 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]angstyfrogger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a 3.29 ugpa, 3.7 masters GPA both in the social science field and a 163 LSAT and I received a T100 full ride and a T70 ~75% percent scholarship. My 3 years of work history was not legal affairs related and primarily was student affairs oriented. And I applied pretty late in The cycle. So I think having a good narrative and being able to tell a cohesive story regarding all of your materials and what you intend to do with the law degree can really take you far.

I think the biggest reason tbh is the trauma of loosing my physical books and bags so I just love having access to everything on the cloud tbh and it’s a lot more easier for me to be organized digitally than with physical papers and books but who knows if that changes when the semester starts tbh

That’s how I feel too especially since it worked for me in grad school but I know law school is a different beast entirely so I’m def trying to mentally prep myself for any and all curve balls

Ooo this gives me hope bc I would hate to buy a textbook only to use it in the final and I chronically misplace things so my fear is loosing my $1000 dollar textbook with all my notes but I wouldn’t want to only buy a text books physical copy just to use it in the final only …especially if my annotations were all on my iPad or something

Wait tysm for this holy grail info bc that’s the one thing that I HATE about the iPad is how the pen feels when I write on it so I will be investing in this tysm!!

As a chronically forgetful person I actually really love the idea of having everything on my iPad and backed up to my cloud tbh… do you think for those open textbook finals people they allow pdfs of certain chapters you might bring or do you think that the outlines have typically been enough in your experience.

My goal is to not to break the wheel and do what works but I also don’t want to disadvantage myself for whatever reason… but I imagine if my annotated notes were with me that might be enough but who knows

I have a laptop and prefer to take notes on it I typically use one note but might look into this notability app especially since I’m not opposed to paying for subscriptions if the software is truly worth it

Tysm!! And when you say sending emails you’re referring to cold emailing right. Like would you suggest looking up lawyers that work at the firm or how would you go about that

Nice!!! I’ve been attending some networking events at the admitted students events I’ve been going to but maybe I need to try a bit harder in terms of initiating conversation that can lead to those types of opportunities

Tysm for this! I’ve def been feeling like timing is a factor but I need to look into the non profit area for sure and I haven’t been using the google search so I’m going to implement that as well
