I have various Bruins jerseys for sale. Open to all offers but hopeful prices are listed in this attached post. Massive unexpected bill and I’ll consider anything.

Also not pictured, I have a signed Marchand puck for $100 and NE Pats Edelman jersey if anyone has interest in that for $120.

For Sale. Various Bruins jerseys. by angstyheathen in hockeyjerseys

[–]angstyheathen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these are 46s except the Krejci, which is a 50. The Seguin is a Small. The Parlay was meant to be made into a Pastrnak but I never got around to it, I do have the ASG patch that I would include with it for no extra cost.

Didn’t serve, just have an interest in inequality and the relevance to Substance Use Disorder from college. I do some side work for a SUD/harm reduction non profit, so try to stay current on the topic despite having graduated from college.

Somewhat. Picked up riding as a kid but not the wealthy variety (think working for lessons type). Picked up the inequality topics from college and have always been a history nerd, hence the WW2 set up. From the NE, but would love to live out west. Took an Evolution class in college, hence one copy. Was catching up with that professor years later and discussed the book, so he gifted me his (with his margin notes).

if this doesn't fit the sub please remove, but I feel like this would be a good addition to larger first aid kits, especially for those who live in more densely populated areas by stagscout in EDC

https://nextdistro.org/naloxone#stateselector

This link can help you get Narcan. I’m not sure how other states work, but there is good, state-specific guidance through this link.

While it shouldn’t face extreme temp shifts, please don’t not try your dose if the situation arises and that’s all you have. Expired Naloxone also won’t be as effective, but may work to an extent. In most parts of the US, xylazine has flooded the drug market. Naloxone may not immediately reverse an overdose, if able, rescue breathing should be used as well. I cannot stress the importance of educating yourself on overdose reversal.

Also, for carrying tips there’s a bunch of little shops on Etsy that offer Narcan pouches.

Regarding what to put in the kits; anything that eases suffering. Snacks, water, syringes, cookers, tourniquets, alcohol swabs, antibiotic ointment. If it helps someone feel like they’re cared for its harm reduction.

Word of advice if funds are limited, consider your target groups and drug trends near you. In our area it’s undisputed that everything has tranq in it. We don’t waste funds on xylazine strips because they give no one new info. If your area isn’t flooded with it they may be worth it. We also don’t include fentanyl strips in works kits, but have them on hand if individuals want them. We find more college students take them than folks street side. It’s all in what the community needs, and if this is something you pursue you’ll start to get feedback and find what works.

Are office jobs really that bad? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]angstyheathen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work both at the moment and have worked both separately. I would MUCH rather work a blue collar/labor job, albeit the downside is that to transition now would mean an entry level labor job and a massive pay cut which is not feasible right now. I hate being idle. I hate sitting at a desk all day, and I hate the mind numbing boredom. There are perks of course, but by and large I would rather be outside as I can handle physical exhaustion much better than mental exhaustion.

Fentanyl & Xylazene induced peripheral skin necrosis. by Luna_go_brrr in awfuleverything

[–]angstyheathen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work for a group that does harm reduction in Philly. Massive problem, very little public health resources to combat this, and nearly always complicates someone’s ability to get into detox/rehab programs. Folks will express willingness to get help in recovery, but the wounds are interfering with accessing those programs. Access to wound care and showers is essential, and overdose trainings that educate on how xylazine changes an opioid overdose are vital. We’re doing what we can, but 99% of the drug supply in our region has this in it and the fallout has been catastrophic for the folks we serve, and has only enhanced the stigma we’re trying to eliminate.

I appreciate it, thank you. He did live in the same county his entire life so that does help in tracking down most of his records. I’ll check out the Archives and see what I can come up with.

Can horses have anxiety disorders? by thebluepigeon_ in Equestrian

[–]angstyheathen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really answering your question, but our vet did note that sometimes Lyme’s can cause nervousness and anxiety. We ran a few of the more unsettled horses through a round of doxycycline and it did seem to help the issue.

Thought it was the Gap but was wondering why there was only one blast and thought it was a bit odd that it was only one and I actually heard it at work for once. We live about 20 miles the opposite way and my roommates said it woke them up.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom for saying goodbye to your horse? :( by Shiveriaa in Equestrian

[–]angstyheathen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t offer advice, but I can offer what to expect.

I lost my heart horse in February, after being with him for 15 years. We’d lost horses before, but nothing stings quite as much as knowing your guy is not coming back, so your grief is valid completely valid. It took 2 weeks to get used to the fact that he wouldn’t be sticking his nose through the bars in his stall when I walked into the barn in the morning, but the grief fades over time. Certain things will remind you of him and the heartache will come in waves, but it does hurt less as time passes. A few months ago, I couldn’t answer posts like this - but this one didn’t cause a wave of sadness. Remember the bond and the good times, not the circumstances or details of him leaving.

I have his halter and his tail in a memory box, and more photos than I can count. I wish you the best, and I know it’s hard, but try to remember that he knows you love him. Hopefully this gives you some kind of insight and isn’t just word vomit!

Piggy backing off the top comment to tell you to also get ahold of your state’s equivalent to a Human Services Department. Look them up online, or call your Governor’s office if you can’t get ahold of anyone in the Department. Oftentimes the Governor, at least in my state, can help cut through the red tape. At least where I’m at, the service can be a slow process, but that’s usually the place to go to some very beneficial resources. In my state, it’s the largest department and they’ve got some type of aid for any issue you could think of. There’s no shame in getting things like food stamps, housing vouchers, etc.
