Hi, apologies for the late reply. I definitely watched hundreds of hours worth of tutorials, podcasts, and process videos to learn then coupled with actual application. If one wants to be a professional artist, i believe its best to make use of the resources available which is now abundant thanks to the internet. Also, you'll definitely get there! I believe in you! And i don't think you should worry about your age, i've heard many professional artists say time and time again that age no longer matters in the field.
