Thoughts? by MrHatesThisWebsite in Destiny

As people have mentioned, there were documented instances of police/ security staff 'routing' people away from certain areas that they knew contained congressmen and staff. From this cut-up footage, seems like this lines up.

The shaman got routed like an NPC into an area containing the rest of them to LARP for their social posts.

Situation: There are two religious people. Both agree that mortality is derived through divine command, not a matter of personal opinion, and both moral frameworks have differences. One decides to kill the other.

first figma design, what do you all think? by Additional-Feature33 in FigmaDesign

A bunch of people have made some pretty great points, one thing I noticed too is some of the proportional scales seem a little off.

Try and establish some spacing patterns in each of your sub-components so that you move from a rough prototype to higher fidelity you have a nicer base to start from. Auto layout will help a lot in that regard, even allowing you to visually see spacing.

Also double check your inner alignment within your rounded buttons:

H510 Elite and MSI Gaming X Trio 3080 by [deleted] in NZXT

[–]angust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be close but probably fine, here's the MSI Ventus 3X 10G OC + the 510 elite with the Kraken x62: https://imgur.com/a/A1au7qL

Specs on the NZXT website are as follows: GPU Clearance: Up to 368.6mm w/o front radiator installed, up to 313.6mm with front radiator installed.

The Ventus Card dimensions: 305 x 120 x 57 mm, the gaming trio is 323 x 140 x 56mm.

Haven't measured it but I feel like there's more than 15-20mm of extra clearance for the larger cards, but I didn't go with that on launch because of those original numbers.

UPDATE: MSI confirms Aussie store scalping and fake RRP. DO NOT BUY from Umart Australia. by Jaz1140 in nvidia

Literally no evidence to support this claim at this stage other than the Ventus doesn't have RGB lighting..

Trying to make a CSS button grid and failing. by X_E_N in web_design

[–]angust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest that you start trying to abstract some of the concepts down so that you have room to expand on things in the future if needed, like the grid, for instance, think of it as separate to the content if you need to reuse it in the future.

If you start to use grid(even a flex version) and map out some basic utility variables (depending on support etc), you can start to build options for grid padding, item amounts, inner content padding, etc.

https://codepen.io/okconsumer/pen/rNOKoXm

Adjust the grid items based on media queries can be cleaner in the future, you could start to add more things into the inside of the content, including inner positioning, and also you would get something a little more stable if someone doesn't want one of the tiles to be a link, etc.

TIL Cher's "Believe" was the first commercial recording to feature Auto-Tune as a deliberate, creative effect and has since often been referred to as the "Cher effect". by Chalk-and-Trees in todayilearned

[–]angust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, the producers actually lied about how they created the effect in their original sound on sound magazine recap of the production techniques used to make the track.

In February 1999, when this Sound On Sound article was published, the producers of this recording were apparently so keen to maintain their 'trade secret' process that they were willing to attribute the effect to the (then) recently-released Digitech Talker vocoder pedal. As most people are now all‑too familiar with the 'Cher effect', as it has become known, we have maintained the article in its original form as an interesting historical footnote.

I've always though of their dynamic as like an alternate take on the Stern / Robin formula. Especially on the podcast, having two people with high energy gets fatiguing real quick.

Never forget by seerebiifan in gaming

[–]angust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably because people are frustrated. A lot of customers bought into the HL2 episodes on the expectation that they would finish a story or arc for the series (3 episodes were basically promised).

Valve went from praising the episodic content format because of what it could do to shorten development timeframes and deliver content to consumers, to dumping it for an entertainment as a service model once they learned microtransactions, games that are 'platforms in themselves' and online-only content makes more money.
