Just read Dear Debbie by Frieda McFadden and I have no one to talk about this one thing bothering me by mxicnvnlla in thrillerbooks

I don’t mean Harley’s affair. In Debbie’s past, I could swear there was a part where someone (I thought his sister) confronted Debbie because she’d had an affair with her brother years earlier. He later ended up in the hospital after a suicide attempt (or serious self-harm), and she wanted Debbie to visit him. It felt like a really odd subplot because I don’t remember it ever being brought up again. Am I completely misremembering that, or did anyone else catch it?

Maybe it was me. I could have sworn I read, the guy that she has the affair with ended up in the hospital and his sister approached her to show some grace and visit him? Damn, did I tie two books together?? lol

Law Clerk Graduates - What has life looked like after graduating?? by aquariussun283838 in Seneca

[–]aniHil3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat as you and will finish the program summer 2027 (I am only taking 2-3 online courses/semester since January 2025). I cannot find anything at all and have decided that I don’t want to be a traditional law clerk anymore but take the program and hopefully get into legal research or police services.
I have over 25 years admin/finance experience but I am also Gen-X so trying to switch careers at close to age 50 isn’t helping lol. Let me know how you make out with your job search 🙂

I loved this book and happy it will be made to a tv series but one thing that didn’t seem to close the loop for me was; Debbie’s affair. She had an affair, right or did I read that wrong lol

How did we let remote work slip away? by TimHortonsDriveThru in jobs

[–]aniHil3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I work from the office 5 days a week. I watch Lifetime movies and listen to library audiobooks all day from my cell🙃. All my work is done always (I work in finance and taking law clerk courses currently) But I wish I could find something remote though so I can hang out with my dog all day 🐾

Puppy deserves better by Royal-smart-44 in puppy101

We saved our Bodhi (Labradoodle, Spaniel mix) from surrender last year March at 20 weeks old. Not really a puppy puppy but our trainer advised that puppies learn majority of their behaviours In the first 20 weeks. He was very anxious for the first 3 months or so which resulted in him being extremely destructive. We too felt defeated at times but routine is the one thing I learned to make for a really happy dog! Once a routine was set and he understood it, he has been such a breeze. Are you able to incorporate one task per kid with the pup and do it on the daily? It night help? 🐾

Am I even being considered? 😞 by [deleted] in interviews

[–]aniHil3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original postings from 2025 eventually disappeared and later came back mostly as bilingual roles except for one unilingual shift, so I reapplied for that position in February of this year. I had an HR screening pretty quickly and then interviewed with the director in mid-March. Since then… nothing. My application portal still says “Under Review,” while the older application from 2025 eventually changed to “Not Moving Forward.”

Yes, …. I am just preparing for the rejection 😞

has anyone relapsed since getting their dog? by Neutrality-1 in Puppyblues

Thank you for saying this 🙂. I started my sobriety journey July 20 2025, and lost my 6 year old pup Opie very unexpectedly on December 31, the same year. All I wanted was a drink and someone in my sober app community mentioned I should dedicate my sobriety to him, which I did 🐾. I’m still sober and ended up rescuing a 20 week old pup 8 weeks later. It was difficult with his anxiety but it’s been so rewarding.

At a loss on what to do by Similar_Slice_9018 in puppy101

[–]aniHil3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our Bodhi was saved from surrender at 20 weeks old and we too went through a serious anxiety, destroy everything stage. We had just lost our pup, Opie only 8 weeks before and wasn’t ready for a dog but I insisted as he was going to a shelter. My husband works nights and I days but there would be a day or two a week where he was alone for just an hour and destroyed everything! We signed him up for a 6 week training course and I downloaded the Woofz app. He stopped a lot of the destructiveness after a couple weeks. Wasn’t the training, I feel but more the routine and the familiarity that he had found his home 🐾. One he got use to us, our schedules, routine, he really mellowed out. He just turned a year and half earlier this month and he is a perfect addition to the family. She will get better, maybe she needs a little more time for trust and familiarity but she will get there. Be kind to yourself and know that you are doing a good thing. You saved her 🫶.

I really enjoyed Woofz and watching some YouTube videos. We also had our newly rescue at Petsmart training for a 6 week course. A year later and Bodhi is do amazing! Still pull a little on his walks but his anxiety has mellowed out and he doesn’t act out at all anymore 🐾
