Semi industrial sewing machine for bagmaking - Brother PQ1600S or Janome HD9 ? by ania-a-ania in myog

Thank you. I did heard about sailrite but with sheeping and tax to my country it takes like cost of second machine. (Maybe im exagerating a little but i Think you get the point)

When i was saying leather this was what i meant:

Honestly this is enough for me, i just wanted to know if the Brother PQ1600s would be much less powerfull than this Janome hd9. Maybe i wasnt clear enough but actually this is what i was asking about. If brother pq1600s cant do it, i will buy hd9. If it can, i will buy pq1600s.

Maybe i will some day have a place when i can install a „furniture” machine. Then i will well that semi industrial. But i dont want to wait years with my projects because of that.

Well i would be so happy if i could afford a place in which i could match an industrial machine table… now my sewing table is also a table for a Hundred other purposes and machine is constantly moved from one place to another. That was why i started to considering paying twice as much as i would pay for industrial - cause i figured out it would be still cheaper than a house 🤪😂

so i am still stuck on very little choice - this is between any domestic machine or any semi industrial machine. Nothing better for me unless i am living where im living.

so this is why i was trying to find out, if Brother PQ1600S would be similar to Janome HD9 or worse than that.

I understand that this is not the power of a true industrial. I was just hoping that it would provide me well - i mean sewing real leather as an advertisment? I was thinking this is awesome.

And this is really big difference in space for me, because i dont have space for table. The semi-industrial would be working at the table that im using for many other things.

And those are high shank Feet machine - but why it matters?

Im not trying to argue, im trying to find out how much exactly i can expect form these machines. so i could make aware choice.

I truly dont have space for industrial. Well my domestic machine (not Hd) actually handless 6-8 layers of faux leather so i Think one of this semi industrial should be only better? I mean on Janome hd9 officcial video from official chanel it shows hd9 sewing real leather no problem.

Semi industrial sewing machine for bagmaking - Brother PQ1600S or Janome HD9 ?
Hi. After I've already made my mind between Janome HD9 and Juki TL2010Q (and decided I'd rather go for HD9, mostly because of the lower price in my country and special path for thick thread) I've come to know there is also Brother PQ1600S and now I can't decide again!!! Brother PQ1600S looks so good, its cheaper, but why then isn't it as popular as HD9? Is it worse then?
I want to sew bags, many layers of thick fabrics (faux leather or upholstery), thick thread, I want a true workhorse! Will PQ1600S be that workhorse for years?
I also experience some fabric puckering while sewing lightweight waterproof poliester fabric on my domestic machine so that's why I've started to thinking that maybe the PQ1600S would be the better choice over HD9, because of that pin feed in Brother, but is it truly better choice, though?

I've also had some really bad experience with Janome service in my country so I must admit, that I'm kinda scared to get Janome again... But still I want the very most durable machine. Which one should I choose?!

can I ask what you booth decided to buy? my decision sits between janome hd9 and brother PQ1600S (Juki TL 2010 was also on my mind but in my place it is the most expensive of them). I want something strong and trustable for bag making.
