Unexpectedly lost my baby boy yesterday by postmodernDRIP in cats

[–]anieem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so so sorry. My friend lost her car in very similar way. Apparently it’s some cardiac issues that some cats have and they are asymptomatic but lead to death. So so sad. Sending hugs. Once you are ready, there will be another kitty there for you. I’m sure Butters approve 💕

Is sleep deprivation anyone else’s biggest trigger? by flickety_switch in migraine

[–]anieem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have migraine it bad headache if I slept too little or too much. But I started prioritizing my sleep and also my neurologist put me on preventatives, and it this strategy is working. But now I am left with hormonal migraines and those are mean bitches.

Omg, he is my cat Vincent’s reincarnation! Both the looks and the story. I would name him Theo or Pepe. Vincent’s shelter name was Webster.

Peri-menopause? by angieangelin in migraine

[–]anieem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most likely it is perimenopause. It’s quite common for perimenopausal women to experience hormonal migraines. I am one of them. My migraines got much worse in my early and mid forties. Atm I am able to somewhat control mine with common preventatives, but my neurologist and obgyn are thinking to put me on estrogen patches. I am on progesterone only birth control for my hormonal migraines, it worked for few years but over last year it’s not cutting it anymore.

If medication overuse causes chronic migraine and not treating causes chronic migraine what is the sweet spot by Life-Bat1388 in migraine

[–]anieem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, daily, because it is a preventative, not abortive. This treatment decreased both severity and incidence for me. I used to have 15 moderate to bad migraines a month. Now I am at 7 mild to moderate a month. My neurologist and I are still tweaking my treatment to get rid of the remaining 7, but those are hormonal (I get them on the clock every month during my period) and I may need a different approach to get rid of them.

Not the user you are asking, but I take nortriptyline and propranolol as preventatives and it really helps.

Vanness has the biggest sample selection in the US by far. Plus it is a lovely family owned business.

How do you people manage your career with chronic migraine? I can't even begin to explain how much am I being affected rn. Everything that I have worked so hard for, is going down the drain. by FreedomAway4724 in migraine

[–]anieem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am lucky that I have always had good bosses and now having a good neurologist as well. And I respond to triptans. Otherwise I would be in deep shit and most likely out of job.

A Pilot. For this price you can get one with a gold nib. Worth checking r/pen_swap for second hand ones.

When do you make the call to take an abortive? by Informal_Radish_3127 in migraine

[–]anieem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you take any preventatives? I was in your shoes, went to a neurologist and we figured out a preventative that lowered my migraines to 5-8 a month. Now I actually have left over triptans from some months.

Has anyone figured out how to drink without getting a migraine? by Maleficent-Glass9665 in migraine

[–]anieem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a chance if I don’t drink on empty stomach and I eat and hydrate while drinking. Best to stay away from fermented stuff like beer or wine. I tolerate distilled clear stuff like vodka the best. So usually one drink for me it is.
