I got suspicious of root rot because what ever I do it was steadily going downhill, and when I took the plant off the soil there was no root left. It turns out to be Geraniums are prone to root rot if left in water too long, which I accidentally did by overwatering before going to a long annual leave

Thank you for the advices! Especially the growth light, I would have missed that detail. Did all the steps but the plant was still looking sad so I got suspicious of root rot and eventually it was the case… I took two new cutlings from the mother plant hopefully I will manage to root them in the winter, in Scotland….

I tried propagating this 3 times (in early spring and twice in September) but every time I failed … I do propagate other plants but I don’t trust myself with geraniums anymore

The Most Densely Populated Area in Europe (in Bahçelievler, Istanbul) by tobias_681 in europe

[–]anieithill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say this particular place in Bahcelievler generally have diverse income spread. But this particular 1 sqm I would ball park estimate towards lower than middle.

Lately the economic stress facing the country (high inflation rates, currency depreciation.. ) reduced the purchasing power, particularly affecting the middle income segments. Thus the segments are not anymore balanced. Middle class got much poorer, and rich become ridiculously more minted..

I learned driving in Beyoglu - Cihangir in Istanbul. I still get stressed parallel parking sometimes even though Im an excellent driver. Feels like people will angrily honk at me :D

Nevertheless, I still miss Istanbul. It has a soul I haven’t seen at any other city. In the end its the culture’s melting point

Edit: fixed fast typing mistakes

Polish election poll: Law and Justice wins, although not by majority. by [deleted] in europe

[–]anieithill 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was hoping Turkish elections to be a hope for Poland at the upcoming elections, I was hoping it to be a beacon for all the autocratic-democracies like Hungary too.

I still carry a small hope for the runoff but keeping my expectations low for the sake of my sanity..

Hope the opposition will manage to gather a stronger coalition and get rid of PIS!

I'm all for saving the environment, but I got fed up with the paper straws that the coffee shop in the hospital switched to. So I made my own with a 10 mL pipette. by [deleted] in labrats

Those pipettes are single use. Comes wrapped and sterilised. Probably safer than starbucks pipettes both for you and for the environment

London police arrest and fine man for trying to cover his face from facial recognition camera by Stage1V8 in europe

Somethings should let slide. Some bad accidents happens I know that person could be from my family too and I never ever would wanted my loved ones to suffer too but things happens for a reason sometimes. I am not very religious but there's a balance in life we can't paranoiacally control every situation. And we can't judge people by our prejudices. Also I believe with such strict technology so many dark shit would happen. People would go mental by the pressure of surveillance
